Dear Friend

The acronym NEET stands for the National Eligibility cum Entrance test .This exam is conducted by the Central Board of secondary examinations for selecting candidates who are interested in doing their bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery and bachelor of dental surgery from the best government colleges.

The eligibility criteria for the NEET exam is as below:

1.Academic qualifications:

>>You must have completed your 10+2 with physics ,chemistry and biology from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in it.

>>10+2 appearing candidates can also apply for the exam.

2.Age limitations:

The minimum age limit is 17 years at the time of admission of at 31st december of year of admission of 1st year bachelor's degree course.

>>The upper age limit for candidates under 15% All India quota is 25 years. For state quota the minimum age limit remains the same

Note: In order to be eligible for the NEET exam in order to get admission in MBBS/BDS ,it is necessary to secure 50th percentile in the NEET exam held in the particular year. However for the SC/ST candidates it is relaxed to 40th percentile.

Here is the pattern for the NEET 2013 which has been revised:

Dear Friend,

The Full Form Of NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The Central Board of Secondary Education [CBSE] conducts the NEET every year for the admission of 12th pass candidates in MBBS Course.

The Qualifications that you should have in order to appear for the NEET are :

* You must have passed 12th with PCB from any recognized board.

* You must have passed 12th with a minimum of 50% marks.

* 12th appearing students can also appear for the exam.

* The age limit for the exam is 17-25 years.

Now coming back to your query regarding how much marks is required to quality the NEET , then i just want to tell you that its not fixed by the CBSE as the competition level changes every year.

However , in general we can say that if you have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test , then the chances to get admission are brighter.

* 5% marks relaxation is granted to Candidates belonging to Reserved Categories.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

NEET Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

~The full form of NEET is National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test. Except for the AIIMS, most of the top government and private medical colleges takes part in this exam.

~Medical Council of India and Ministry of Human Resource Development proposed to replace most of the medical entrance examinations by a single exam called NEET.

~Under a single umbrella of NEET now most of the medical colleges have come including both government and private colleges. AIMS is not a part of NEET though.

~The minimum qualification required to sit for this exam is that you need to be a higher secondary passed out candidate of a recognized board.

~At 10+2 level you need to get 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together.

~There is some relaxation for the SC/ST candidates. They needs to get 45% of marks in physics, chemistry and biology put together.

~Unless and until you attain the age of 17 years you won't be allowed to sit for this examination.

~There is upper age limit relaxation for the reserved category candidates. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates there is 5 years age relaxation.

~A total of 180 questions will be asked. You will get three hours to complete the whole paper and negative marking is there so for each wrong answer 1/4th marks will get deducted.

~For the exam stress on the following areas:- Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Botany. From each section 45 questions will be asked.

~You need minimum 50 percentile in NEET to qualify. This is only to ensure that none of the seats remain vacant.

♦>> NEET Exam Details :-

• NEET stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. This exam was proposed by the Medical Council of India and Ministry of Human Resource Development. This exam is for those candidates who wants to do graduation course like MBBS and post graduation courses like MS, MD.

• In NEET exam even your board exams will be considered in the sense that it is important to pass 10+2 firstly of a recognized board and then secure 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together. They will calculate the aggregate marks.

• There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates. SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together. If you are in the final year then also you are eligible to give this exam.

• You cannot apply for this exam unless and until you turn 17 years of age. There is upper age limit relaxation for the reserved category candidates. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates there is 5 years age relaxation.

• This exam can be given for three times. Along with that you need to get 50 percentile in NEET to qualify. The low percentile is only to ensure that no seat remains vacant.

• Talking about the benefits of NEET exam one can confidently say that this exam will prove to be beneficial for the students because earlier there were 271 medical colleges in India and over 25 medical entrance exams. So to ensure a seat in a good medical college students were forced to sit for more than one entrance exam.

• Now that most of the colleges falls under NEET therefore you have main one main exam to give and that means one exam will get your full undivided attention and you will therefore get more time to get accustomed with the exam pattern and syllabus of the exam.

• Let me mention here that though NEET has most of the top medical colleges of our country under its umbrella but AIIMS is not a part of this exam. So for those students whose aim to is to crack AIIMS exam they need to separately prepare for that exam.
