How to be a Psychiatrist? Availability of Diploma or graduate courses?
I passed my 12th in Commerce. Now, I am in first year of Arts faculty. So what is my further step to be a Psychiatrist? Which course should I study after my BA? Any Diploma courses available or any graduate courses available? Any training centers?

Re: How to be a Psychiatrist? Availability of Diploma or graduate courses?
Being an art student you cannot be a Psychiatrist but you can be a psychologist.
The difference between psychiatrist and psychologist is the psychiatrist has the authority to treat patients with medication while psychologist have to treat their patients with counselling sessions. The Basic difference between psychologist and psychiatrist is that , the psychiatrist has the authority to treat the patient of depression through the counselling , psychotherapies and medication but the psychologist can treat his/her patients through the counselling and through the psychotherapy but not with medication. If you are 12th passed candidate you can opt for BA in psychology or if you are BA graduate you can opt for MA in psychology. Following are the colleges offering psychology courses. Lovely Professional University, Admission Office Connaught Place, Delhi Lady Shri Ram College for Women Lajpat Nagar, Delhi LPU - Lovely Professional University Jalandhar Mount Carmel College Palace Road, Bangalore |
