Guidelines for MPSC: 1.If you are preparing for UPSC then automatically you are completing 50% to 70% study of MPSC. Remaining study of Maharashtra and its history and geography can easily learn because you are residence of Maharashtra and you have studied all history and geography upto 10th class. Tips for study 1.Such types of exams have wide syllabus so that you have to study regularly. Decide your daily hours for study. 2.You should attend the seminars, read the motivational articles, meet to the seniors who passed the UPSC and MPSC and listen their experience and try to convert your way of study. 3.Solve the previous year question papers so that you might be know the pattern of question papers, important topics and points. 4.Set your goal first so that you will not miss your way and struggle to catch your goal. Try to follow these tips which will definitely helps you. Syllabus of MPPSC preliminary examination is as following:- Paper – 1 (General Studies) will consist of following parts : General Science & Environment Current Events of National and International Importance History of India and Independent India Geography of India Indian Polity and Economy Sports Geography, History and Culture of Madhya Pradesh Polity and Economy of Madhya Pradesh Information and Communication Technology Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe ( Prevention of Atrocities ) Act, 1989, the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955 Paper – 2 (General Aptitude Test Paper) will consist of following parts : Comprehension Interpersonal Skill including Communication Skill Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability Decision Making and Problem Solving General Mental Ability Basic Numeracy, Data Interpretation Hindi Language Comprehension Skill |

Main exam
The written exam consists of 7 papers. The time allotted for each paper will be 3 hours. Each paper will be of 300 marks. Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be of General studies and Paper 3 will be of Hindi. You will be asked to choose 2 optional subjects. For each subject 2 papers will be conducted i.e. paper 4,5,6,7. THese will not be objective type papers. These will be long answer type paper. You will have to secure 33% marks in each paper (23% in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates) All the papers will be set both in Hindi and English except the language papers (the Engineering subject paper will be set in English only) After that an interview of 250 marks will be conducted I have attached the syllabus of Generals studies papers of prelim and mains.
