Dear friend,
As far as i know CSE/IT students are not eligible for applying the IES exam conducted by the UPSC. Only four branches of engineering namely: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics students are eligible to appear for this exam. So try out other exams to get Govt sector jobs. Good luck!! |

Re: IES exam for a CSE student?
Being and Engineering student, I think you are looking for the Engineering Service.
Look the Engineering Service is conducted for the following categories: 1.Civil Engineering 2.Mechanical Engineering. 3.Electrical Engineering 4.E&C Engineering. You being CSE student, can educationally be eligible to appear for the exam, but let me tell you that you have to appear from the above categories papers only. So I think it can be a little difficult for you to compete with students of the above branches, but you can always try. Good Luck! |

to various PSUs and other governmental departments. The PSUs that are included in it are 1. Indian defence service 2. Indian railway service 3. Ministry departments. 4. Advisory to government departments. for civil engineering students there are more benefits, the other departments that they can recruit them are 1. DMRC 2. CPWD 3. PWD ELGIBILITY CRITERIA AGE LIMIT: A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, of the current year. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Obtained a degree in Engineering from a University. 2. Final year students currently appearing. Hence you are eligible for writing the exam as they have not pinpointed the branches that aren't eligible. you should have passed else you should be pursuing engineering right now. PREPARATION You can either prepare for the exam yourself, or approach a coaching institute. REPUTED COACHING INSTITUTES ARE: 1.ACE ACADEMY, Hyderabad. 2. P.C THOMAS CLASSES,Thrissur. If you are preparing yourself, some of the good books that will help you are 1.MADE EASY Publication 2.Khanna publication. 3. G.K Publishers ( contains a little bit of mistakes). I guess this would be sufficient. and once you start your preparation, hang onto it. try your level best. atleast 3 months preparation would be necessary. All The Best !!!... |
