Well actually I am in BBA final semester now, and would like to appear for CAT 2017 and MAT 2017 examinations in order to pursue MBA from a good institute. So, please let me know what are the dates which are important for both of them.

Important dates for CAT 2017 and MAT 2017 examinations

CAT 2017

Form Availability: Aug 08, 2017 to Sep 22, 2017
Form Submission: Sep 22, 2017
Examination date: 04th Dec 2017

MAT 2017

Form Availability: July 2017 onwards to Aug 20, 2017
Form Submission: Aug 23, 2017
Examination date:
Paper Based: 04th Sep 2017
Computer Based: 10th Sep 2017

CAT stands for Common Admission Test. It is an entrance exam conducted by IIM at the national level for admission in management programmes.

CAT Registration Dates :-

Online Registration started from : 8th August 2016

Last Date to apply Online : 22nd September 2016

Admit Card will be available from : 18th October 2016

Date of CAT exam : 4th December 2016


MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test. It is a national level entrance test conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) every year. MAT 2017 registration will be available and submitted through the online process only. The form will be provided in the month of January, March, August and October.

Tentative Application dates :-
MAT February 2017 : December 2016
MAT May 2017 : March 2017
MAT September 2017 : July 2017
MAT December 2017 : October 2017

Important Dates in CAT 2017

CAT notification is released in last week of July, 2017.
CAT Sale of Vouchers & Registration starts from 1st week of August, 2017.
CAT Test Dates is in the 2nd and 4th week of November, 2017.

Important Dates in MAT 2017 :

Form for MAT February 2017 will release on December 2016
Form for MAT May 2017 will release on March 2017
Form for MAT September 2017 will release on June 2017
Form for MAT December 2017 will release on October 2017

MAT 2017 Important Dates (Tentative):-

MAT Exam is conducted for four times a year. Now depending upon when you want to sit for the exam the notification for the same will vary accordingly.

• Form for MAT February 2017 will release on December 2016
• Form for MAT May 2017 will release on March 2017
• Form for MAT September 2017 will release on June 2017
• Form for MAT December 2017 will release on October 2017

Yes, you can appear for MAT and CAT examination is 2017. MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test and the examination is conducted four times in a year where as CAT is conducted once in a year.

CAT stands for Character Aptitude Test and MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test. Both the examinations are held for admission in MBA courses in top business colleges. Also CAT scores are used for admission in IIM ( Indian Institute of Management ).

--> For appearing in the same examination the minimum educational qualification requirement is a bachelor degree course in any discipline with a minimum of 50% from a recognized university.

--> As far as you are concerned about the important dates of CAT 2017 and MAT 2017 then till now it has not been officially announced. But as per the trend the you can expect the applications forms for both the examinations to be released by the months of August and examination to be held in the month of December and September respectively.
