SBI Clerk exam Eligibility Criteria

Education qualifications Required:

1.Candidate must have 10+2 with 60% of marks for general candidates
2.55% of marks enough in 10+2 for SC/ST Candidates
3.or Any degree with pass marks from any recognized university
4.Diploma Candidates(Regular) also eligible for this job

Age Limit for SBI Clerk Exam 2012

1.Candidate must have at least 18 years for general candidates as on 01-12-2011
2. Maximum age limit is 28 years
3.5 years relaxation in age for SC/ST Candidates
4.3 years relaxation for BC Candidates

In order to be eligible for PO exam of State Bank of India, one need to consider the below mentioned points:

1. Age Limit ::

General Candidate => 21 to 30 years
OBC Candidate => 21 to 33 years
SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen Candidate => 21 to 35 years
VH/OH(General) Candidate => 21 to 40 years
VH/OH(OBC) Candidate => 21 to 43 years
VH/OH(SC/ST) Candidate => 21 to 45 years


2. Qualifications ::

Educational qualifications should be as follows:

* Aggregate 60% in 10 + 2 class or in a diploma after 10th class. It is important to notice that this diploma course should be of at least 2 years duration. Also, these diplomas need to be regular courses with recognized universities. In addition to it, a person should get more than 55% aggregate in graduation.

* For SC/ST and PWD categories, a person should have at least 55% aggregate in 10 + 2 and 50% aggregate in graduation.

*If a person has not done graduation and got enrolled in professional courses like CA, CS etc after 10 + 2 then the requirement is passing marks in professional course. The eligibility criteria for 10 + 2 remain same.


Once you are sure that you meet the eligibility criteria for the post of PO exam for State Bank of India then you need to prepare for some series of examinations. First and foremost, there is a written examination which needs to be cleared to get to the next level of group discussion and Interview. So, start preparing today for these exams.

To sit for the SBI Clerk Exam you need to satisfy certain eligibility criteria. Some of them have been listed below:

• You should be a citizen of India.
  
• The minimum qualification required for this post is that you should complete your higher secondary examination with not less than 60 percent of marks.
  
  (OR)
  
• You should be a diploma holder. Since a diploma degree is equivalent to class 12 therefore it will be considered only if its duration is not less than two years. If its done in correspondence then you are not eligible. The percentage of marks to secure in this case is also 60 percent.
  
  (OR)
  
• You should be a bachelor's degree holder in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Since the minimum percentage to obtain in this regard has not been mentioned therefore if you can manage to get the pass marks then you are eligible.
  
• While giving this exam your age should not be less than 18 years old. The upper age limit for the general category candidate is 28 years.
  
• There is age relaxation for the reserved categories. For SC/ST candidates there is age relaxation of 5 years, for OBC candidates it is 3 years and for the physically handicapped candidates it is 10 years.
  
• The selection procedure is based on: 1) Written Examination and 2) Personal Interview
  
• If you are well acquainted with the syllabus of class 11 and 12 then you will find the exam easier. Generally objective type of questions are asked from the following sections:
  
  1.General Awareness
  
  2.General English
  
  3.Quantitative Aptitude
  
  4.Reasoning Ability
  
  5.Marketing Aptitude/ Computer Knowledge
  
• Very cautiously you should attempt every answer because for every wrong answer there is negative marking. 1/4th marks will be deducted from your original score for every wrong answer you give.
  
• You also need to score a minimum percentage of marks to qualify for the exam. However for the reserved category candidates there is relaxation available in the percentage of marks to obtain.
