Re: Minimum marks in GATE for NTPC?
APPLYING FOR NTPC Doesn't REQUIRE GATE SCORE.
NTPC conducts separately it's written test and viva. The last date for application forms was 7-3-2011 and the date of exam is 27-4-2011. So if you haven't applied for those try for next year. ALL THE BEST |

Re: Minimum marks in GATE for NTPC?
Hi
NTPC is the National Thermal Power Corporation company and it is a PSU- Public Sector Undertaking. Its a government company and so a lot of people aspire to be a part of this organization and work in it. But since its one of the top most companies, it recruitment process is very very tough on all India basis. Earlier NTPC used to conduct its own exam in which B.Techs and M.Techs could appear. But now from this year onwards, most of the PSU's have decided that they would recruit on the basis of the GATE exam. GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering This exam is conducted by the IIT's every year in the month of February. It tests candidates on the B.Tech knowledge based on their particular stream. So if you do well in GATE, only then can you get recruited in NTPC. The Basic Eligibility Criteria to sit for the GATE exam is that you should be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch or B.Pharmacy. Final year students may apply but not the pre final year students. There are not age or attempt limits to this exam as of now. So now coming to your question, I would say that you should expect NTPC only if you get 98 percentile and above in the GATE exam. It means you should be amongst the top 2% of the candidates who appeared for the exam. Eg :- If 1,00,000 students appeared, then you should be among the top 2% ranks i.e 2/100* 100000 = TOP 2000 ranks. Thus work very hard as NTPC is everybody's dream company. Hope this helps All the best Regards RANJEET |

Re: Minimum marks in GATE for NTPC?
National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) IS recruiting some of the jobs on the basis of gate score, since it is a publis sector unit there is a heavy competition for it.your rank should be below 1200 and your intake also depends on your category.
Based on the GATE-2012 score and requirement, candidates will be short listed for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates have to secure minimum qualifying marks in GD & interview. |
