Re: Physically handicapped person are allowed for IAS exam or not?
IAS refers to Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS examination one has to qualify Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.
* The minimum qualifications which you need to have for appearing in the same examination to join IAS wing of Civil Services are as here under : i) You must be an Indian citizen. ii) Your age must lie in between 21 years to 32 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government norms. iii) You must have either completed your bachelor degree course or must be in the final year of same in any stream of your choice from a recognized university. So being a physically handicapped candidate you are eligible for appearing in Civil Services examination to join IAS as this wing does not hold physical fitness requirement norms which is required for the wing like IPS, etc. . As far as you are concerned about the examination mode then Civil Services examination is held in three stages which includes Preliminary Test, Mains and Personal Interview respectively. And to be become IAS officer you need to qualify all the three stages with top rankings. For more details about Civil Services examination you can visit the link www.upsc.gov.in. |

Further the examination is held in three stages which includes Preliminary test followed by Mains and Personal Interview respectively. --> The basic qualification required for appearing in the Civil Services examination for joining its IAS wing you need to have following qualifications :- a) You must have the nationality of India. b) Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years if you belong to general category as there is provision of age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per the government norms. c) You must have completed your graduation degree course in any discipline from a recognized university. Re: Physically handicapped person are allowed for IAS exam or not?
Yes, candidates who qualifies in Civil Service examination will be eligible for recruitment in I.A.S and other central services jobs.
But, there is one exception that candidates will be not eligible for recruitment as an I.P.S Officer. So, if you have any type of disability no doubt you can prepare for examination and after qualifying in examination will be eligible for recruitment as an officer. The examination is conducted in three stages and so it is necessary to qualify in all three stages for final recruitment. There is relaxation in cut off marks for reserved category and PWD candidates. For more detail information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |
