I had to drop out from school for 3 years because my mother got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer so we had to move around a lot for her treatment and I was her sole caretaker since my father was working overtime, that really messed up my academics and eventually lead to dropping out. Now I'm desperate to get a HS diploma and NIOS seems my only way but there seems to be only one problem; from what I read online it states that you have to wait 2 years before taking 12 exam after completing 10th and if that's true then it's really going to waste another 2 years for me, I feel ready to take both these exams within a year, I'm 18 now and looking to take 10th this August through NIOS but is the 12th clause true and is there any work around it?

No it is not possible to take NIOS 10th and 12th within a year because there must be a gap of 1 year between 10th and 12th.
National Institute of Open Schooling do not provide the admission for 11th class, now you have two options wait for at least one year and then NIOS will provide you admission in 12th on the behalf of 10th class results and second one is to take admission in any Board in 11th class and after passing 11th class leave the school and take admission in NIOS board for 12th standard.
