ACIO exam is for post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer in the Intelligence Bureau. ACIO exam is not as popular as the IAS or IPS but regardless of that it is a very important job position that is related to security of India from internal threats.

Today terrorism is a big challenge for India. There are several terrorist organizations in India active today who are consistently planning a attack. Apart from terrorism, naxalism is another big issue today in some of the tribal states in India.

The job of Intelligence Bureau is to gather information against these organizations and warn police forces in advance about any mishap being planned. Although when Intelligence Bureau was created this was not the primary job of the organization. It was established before our independence by the Britishers who feared an Russian Invasion in India.

Today Intelligence Bureau is a premier intelligence agency where people who like to serve India apply for the job. The great work of Intelligence Bureau gives Police enough information to fail some terror attacks in India.


Eligibility:

Only Indian Nationals can Apply.

Age Limit for the Exam is 27 years.

There is up to 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates.

SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation

You need at least graduation degree in any stream to appear in the exam.


Preparing for ACIO exam could be very tricky since you will have to prepare for it by yourself. There are actually very few coaching centers in India that would provide you professional coaching for ACIO exam. Similarly it is very difficult to download relevant study material from internet as well.
