The details about the exam is given below

Coast guard Naviks exam:

1) Indian Coast Guard is one of the Defence forces of our country.

2) It conducts an entrance exam for the selection of candidates for the position of Naviks in the general duty and for domestic branches.

3) The examination is conducted two times in a year. The selection of the candidates is done region wise. Separate tests are conducted for the selection of candidates from the eastern, western, northern and southern regions.

4) As a most reputed organization numerous candidates apply for the Coast Guard Naviks examination each year.

Structure and Pattern of Coast guard Naviks exam:

1) The selection of the candidate for this post is done by written test, interview, medical test and physical test.

2) The written test consists of objective type questions. The test consists of two parts. First 30 minutes is for mental ability test and next one hour is for a written test consists of questions from English, Mathematics, Science and General Knowledge. The students can answer the questions in English or Hindi.

3) Those who clear the written test have to undergo a physical fitness test. The selected candidates will be called for the interview. If the performance of the candidates in the interview is good, they will be selected.

4) Those who clear all the above tests are subjected to a medical fitness test. The candidates who possess all the medical standards prescribed in the notification will be selected.

5) The appointments of the candidates are done completely from the merit list.


Qualification Criteria for Coast guard Naviks exam:

The eligibility requirements for the General Duty Branch Naviks and Domestic branch Naviks is different.

For General Duty Branch Naviks

The candidates have to pass their plus two in 10+2+3 scheme with physics and mathematics as the subjects. The age of the candidates should be between 18 and 22 years. Certain age relaxations are given to SC/ST and OBC candidates. The candidates should possess certain physical standards like 157cms height, eye sight of 6/6 and 6/9 without the use of glasses and a weight proportional to the height.

For Domestic Branch Naviks

The candidates should have completed their 10th exam for applying to the Coast Guard Naviks exam for the Domestic Branch. The age of the candidates should be between18-22. The physical standards required for this exam is same as that for the General Duty branch. But the eye sight should be 6/18 and 6/36.

Application Procedure of Coast guard Naviks exam

The exam notification will be there in employment news and all other leading newspapers in our country. The format of the application form would be made available in the notification. Candidates should send a typed or handwritten application form in the prescribed format to the Commander of the Coast Guard Exam. The candidates can also use the downloaded application form from the website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in.
