i just wanna know the further scope after doing economics hons. from d.u.
please tell me what does an economist do in a private sector.

Hello dear,
this is true that this sectors have various in jobs though it is not getting any more recoveries... i think it will not going to effect any more in this sector...
it will be better to opt human resourse management, After economic hons you may do MBA in the subject u interested like finance or management,
as economic has low in expanding industry.

DU is the most standarised and famous university..these days..it's value has gone down to some extent because of all the new sophisticated colleges with updating information regarding the subjects...and you better do M.A in econmics honours in standardised university....then you can write entrance test for ph.d in economics..my suggestion is to NET for getting authorised eligblity for doing ph.d..there are many benefits which turns on your life..

economist means who analyses the economy...and suggests the way to be economy in healthy condition...that is i think economist is very important in any sector for estimating the future economic condition according to the economic strategies and laws...they are just the guides to keep economic condition good...it is important in any sector..undoubtedly...you can more opportunities in private sector...all the best my dear....

There is scope but not that much if you do just a gradution from india. If you really want to be successful then do masters after your gradution and then Phd from abroad

This will provide you great opportunities anywhere in the world. Or else you can do your MBA later in Finance and Marketing.

But at the end its your choice. You can take some inspiration from Dr Manmohan Singh the PM of India. He has done economics from top colleges abroad and so he is very successful in his field.

So it depends how higher you want to study rest depends only your aptitude and hardwork

Doing economics honours from Du is very futuristic. AS you are interested in private sector so all the companies will give you preference over other candidate. If you get admission there you should carry further considering your interest also in the field. An economist has multiple task in the industry, it depends on his specialisation field.This individual has to keep himself updated with the data as these are always changing on the weekly, monthly, quaterly, etc. basis. If talking for private sector you could go for UPSC IES exams also after your UG.

Career with Economics has very good future in our country as well as in the world at this time of globalization.

You can do master's in Economics after graduation, and further Phd which will give you better chances in job field.

One can join government companies, business firms, private organisations, and academic institutions, consultancy services etc.

Different private and foreign banks, insurance companies offer good openings to candidates holding postgraduate or doctorate degree in economics.

In private sector there are very good job aspects.
Various international organisations like the HDFC bank and the International Labour Organisation offer vast job opportunities.

There are not many jobs for economics graduates in private sector. In private sector you can make a career in teaching, accountancy, management, banking and finance or International trade.
You can also write reports on financial and economic matters for newspapers.

However, if you are interested in doing Government jobs, You can give IES (Indian Economic Service) exam.

Dear it is the best option to do the economics honors from DU(Delhi university)
as it is a reputed one.

There are lot of options open for you after completing your economics honors.

yes,i do agree with you..graduation in delhi university is valued one..and..after you can write net examination to do ph.d in economics honours...in college whereever in india....NET is conducted by ugc...if you selected in NET exam..it is authorised permission for you to do ph.d any where in india ....better option is this...

Is it necessary to have mathematics as a subject while doing ba(eco hons.) for admison in MA in du, jnu etc.

I don't think any problem. Though it would have been better if you had it in english as all the work is carried out in english only .
But don't worry you can appear for IEWS and other UPSC exams in hindi.

I think..if you study economics honours in english..it will be asset or positive preferable quality..sir during the jobs...and i think there will not be any problem..if you choose hindi..most probably.you might have taken english ..no problem..i think..you have studying..better you try to undastsnd the concept in english..make it a habit..good luck
