The acronym for TNPSC is Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.


The acronym for VAO is Village Administrative Officer.


TNPSC conducts VAO examination for the recruitment for Village Administrative Officers for Tamil Nadu villages.


VAO examination syllabus:-

* General Knowledge.

* General Tamil.

* General English.


The eligibility criteria required for the VAO examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of 10th from any accredited board.

* Contenders must have known Tamil language.

* Age limit:- 18-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- Provided as government rules.

* Nationality:- Indian.

VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

• To give this you need to have secondary school leaving certificate to give this exam.
  
• Although this is the minimum qualification required but even if you have higher qualifications then also you need to show this certificate to be considered eligible.
  
• Your age should not be less than 18 years when applying for this exam. The upper age limit is 30 years for general category candidates. For reserved category candidates it is 40 years.
  
• On getting selected you will be posted in the villages of Tamilandu. So to avoid communication problem you need to know Tamil language
  
• Even if you do not know Tamil you can still the give the exam. But in that case on getting selected you will be asked to sit for the Tamil language exam which is also conducted by the TNPSC and you have to pass in it.
  
• Selectors expects that only physically fit candidates will give this exam. So to prove your medical fitness you will be asked to show medical certificates to the authorities concerned during exam time.
  
• For the exam you will get questions from general knowledge and general tamil/general english. 150 marks each have been allotted for each paper and you will get three hours to complete the whole paper.
