TOPICS TO STUDY FOR GATE - 2012 FOR ECE

As of GATE exam, it is common for all IIT colleges and there is no separate topics to be prepared for separate IIT colleges....

As you are from ECE background you have to prepare the following topic very well....

1. Basic electronics
2. Antenna
3. VLSI-Very Large Scale Integration
4. Digital electronics
5. Analog communication

7. Quantative aptitude

Read the topics from 2nd year onwards .practice aptitude questions also. And even it is given in syllabus of gate

what are the important topics to be concentrated in civil engineering to crack gate 2012 and that too in this 2 months ??

There is no particular topic that is important for the GATE exam.
The paper pattern changes from time to time.
So instead of trying to focus on particular topics, try and complete the entire syllabus thoroughly if possible as the paper will definitely cover most of the topics.

Also try to solve the previous years questions papers for knowing the type of questions and to test yourself.

You can follow the GATE book for ECE by GK publications for preparation.
Completing the book nicely will give you a good chance of scoring well in the exam as all the topics are covered concisely.

GATE exam contains Wide syllabus. and it contains most of the topics of perticular branch. and therefore you have to do thorough study of every topics.
and you should refer previous GATE exam paper for referance.
so prepare well in every sector of your perticular branch
