Re: Useful books for PCSJ exam preparation
# Each state conducted Judicial Services Examination at its own level, pattern and syllabus.
# The general syllabus prescribed for PCSJ Examination includes * Indian Penal Code (IPC) * Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C) * Civil Procedure Code (CPC) * Evidence Act, * Constitution of India * Local laws at State level like Land Laws, Excise Laws, rent etc. # It is advisable that one should go through intensively and deeply all the academic books (at Law College) regarding above mentioned topics in order to have better preparation. # It would also be a good to solve out more and more old & model question papers in order to get familiar with prevalent trend, nature and toughness level of examination. # It would also be a good idea to join any reputed coaching centre in this regard in order to have better preparation and clearance of doubts. # The PCS(J) is conducted in three stages which are: * Preliminary Examination * Mains Examination * Personal Interview # The Preliminary Examination includes following two papers mentioned below: * Law * General Knowledge # The Mains Examination includes following papers which are: * General Knowledge (of total 200 marks) * Procedure and Evidence Law (of total 200 marks) * Revenue and Criminal Law (of total 200 marks) * Substantive Law (of total 200 marks) # Final stage includes Personal Interview (which is of total 100 marks). The candidates are shortlisted for interview on the performance in Mains Examination. # Final selection list or merit list is prepared on the basis of collective/combined performance in both Mains Examination as well as Personal Interview. |
