I am Prakhar Sharma, doing BE in Electronics and Communication (2 nd year), And i am interested to be serve in Railways.
Tell me about Various Railways Entrance for which i can appear after completion of my BE.

There are different RRB's offer entrance Examination in india.some are

Various Railway jobs are there for the persons of various applications.

With SSC qualification you can elgible for the posts of
commercial clerk and ticket examiner, accounts clerk typist
age between 18-30
50% marks minimum in SSC
Selection will be by written test

With 10+2 you can eligible for the posts of
Diesel assistant and electrical assistant
age between 18-30
written test through aptitude exams

With Degree qualification you can eligible for
Assistant Station Master, goods guard, enquiry cum reservation clerk and senior clerk cum typist.
written test will be in two phases


With Engineering, eligible for
Section engineer
Selection through single stage written test
Question are from 70% technical and the rest from non-technical
IN non technical questions from GK, Arithematic and reasoning.
FOR technical questions from subject (engineering knowledge)
Age between 20-35.



Along with high pays, the jobs are so secure.

You must give Special Class Railway Apprentice exam . conducted by UPSC every year, It will help u in becoming railway Engineer.

For the 12 class students interested in Railways, i must tell them to give Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam (SCRA), conducted by UPSC every year.

as your from engineering stream so you can prefer jobs as section engineer.
you can even go through UPSC exams in Indian civil service examination.

this test consists of three stages
1.preliminary test
2.main test
3.personal interview

Since you are studying BE in electronics & communication, you can apply for technical jobs in railway. The technical departments in Railway Jobs require civil, mechanical, electrical and telecommunication engineers and other professionals.

Recruitment to the Indian Railway services of Engineers (IRSE), Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) and Indian Railway Services Stores (IRSS) is done through the Combined Engineering Service Examination.

Engineers selected through the Combined Engineering Services Examination are appointed to various posts in governmental organizations like the Indian Railways, Central Engineering Service, Survey of India, Indian Ordnance Factories Service (Engineering Branch), Military Engineer Services, Indian Telecommunication Service, Central Power Engineering Service, Central Water Engineering Service etc.

So, you need to clear Combined Engineering Service Examination for getting job in railway.

rrb is conducting various exam for different posts..gothrough the website for more details...prepare for exam no itself by just studying ur be syllabus itself...and update ur knowledge of current affairs

after 12th you will have an opportunity to attend SCRA exam conducted on july.
application form will available in month of february
you will get b.tech degree from Birla institute of technology(bit)mesra in mechanical trade

according to me you should give the special class railway apprentice exam .
this is one of the most important exam for getting job as the railway engineer .......
there are even some other exam to get jobs in the railways

Normal age criteria: 17-20 years

2)Educational qualification: The candidate should have secured first or second division intermediate exams or any examination equivalent to the intermediate of board or university.
It is necessary that the candidate must have maths and physics or chemistry as one of the subjects in the examination.
Candidates who have passed higher secondary can also apply for the exam.
