What does 60% throughout (10th, 12th & Graduation) criteria means while applying for a company?
I am a student of B.Tech. Computer Science with 66%, +2 Science with 53.33% and 10th with 78.5%. Am I eligible for "60% throughout (10th, 12th & Graduation)" criteria? What does this criteria means?

Re: What does 60% throughout (10th, 12th & Graduation) criteria means while applying for a company?
Yes, you are eligible for the criteria.
In general the companies request the candidates for an overall 60% in 10th, 12th and graduation degree. Overall percentage means the candidate should have an average 60% from 10th to graduation level degree. Since you have secured 66% in 10th class, 53.33% in 12th class and 78.5% in graduation your overall percentage is 65%. So, you are eligible for applying to the companies for job. |

Re: What does 60% throughout (10th, 12th & Graduation) criteria means while applying for a company?
In most of multinational companies, there is one eligibility criteria which states that in order to appear for on campus or off campus recruitment drive, you should have minimum of 60% marks throughout academics.
The meaning is that job aspirant should have at least 60% marks in secondary, higher secondary and bachelor's degree. If you have less than this threshold at any stage of education then you are not eligible. You have less than 60% marks in 12th which makes you ineligible for companies which have this criteria for recruitment. |

Re: What does 60% throughout (10th, 12th & Graduation) criteria means while applying for a company?
Now a days MNC's and even small companies are also looking for one minimum criteria from the candidates which is Career 60 which means the candidate should have scored a minimum of 60% of marks through out thee career in all academic levels right from SSC or 10th standard till the highest academic qualification UG/PG.
As per your percentage of marks, you have scored only 53.3% of marks in your 10+2. Hence you won't be a career 60 candidate and the doors to make entry into most of the MNC's have been closed for you. However please don't get disappointed. You will not be eligible for campus placements but still there are some Companies which will hire candidates with less percentage of marks also. Try to upload your profile in job portals and update it regularly. You will get the information regarding jobs in Mails and calls. Apply for the position as per your interest and crack the respective selection procedure to get the job. Usually the selection process incluedes JAM - Just A Minute GD - Group Discussion Written Test Technical Interview HR Interview In the Written Test, you will be asked questions regarding Reasoning, Aptitude, General English and from your core subjects. Have good preparation for the same and crack it. Try to be good in subject knowledge and communication skills so that you can easily crack Personal Interview round as well. |

60% throughout or Triple 60 means you should have at least 60% in graduation, 10+2 and 10th. In 12th, you have less than 60%, so you are not eligible for applying in a company (having 60% throughout criteria).

Re: What does 60% throughout (10th, 12th & Graduation) criteria means while applying for a company?
Hi,
As you said you are a B.Tech. Computer Science candidate with 66% in +2 Science with 53.33% and 10th with 78.5%. So you don't have at least 60% marks in 10+2,although you have more than 60% marks in your 10 and B.Tech 60% through out means that you should have at least 60% total percentage in your 10,10+2 and B.tech. Most of the recruiting companies follow this criteria when they arrange any on campus or off campus mode of employment. |

The meaning of "60% marks throughout" is that candidate applying for jobs in company must have minimum percentage of 60 at 10th, 12th and bachelor's degree level of academics.
You are not eligible for this criteria because you have less than 60% marks in senior secondary board examination. |

Quote:
Since you do not have 60% in 10+2, unfortunately you do not fulfill the criteria of through-out 60%. |
