I have completed my Intermediate 12th Board exams with Agriculture Science. Now, can I do Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician (DMLT)? What is the scope and job opportunities in this area? Is there Bachelor's degree also available in Medical Laboratory Technician? Is the duration of Diploma MLT and B.Sc MLT same?

Eligibility for DMLT:

Candidates should have completed 10 + 2 or its equivalent with science subject( physics, chemistry, biology) with minimum 45% marks from a recognised School Board.

Duration : 2years.

Eligibility for B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology:

Candidates should have done 10 + 2 with minimum 55% marks with physics, chemistry and Biology subjects.

Duration: 3 years.

Scope after DMLT:-
After DMLT, one can work a phlebotomist, lab technician in a laboratory, which helps in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases. Other than that, one can also work in sales of lab equipments and also as medical coder.
