What is the marking scheme of Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (P-TET)?


Is there any negative marking in Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (P-TET)? What is the standard marking scheme? And, what is the passing percentage required?

PSTET (Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted for the recruitment for the post of teachers for class I to V and class VI to VIII in Punjab State. Paper I will be conducted for the selection of teachers for class I to V and Paper II will be for class VI to VIII. According to NCTE guidelines, You need to score at least 60% marks to qualify the exam. Final selection will be based on merit ranks which is prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in written exam followed by interview.

Selection Stages
- Written Examination
- Personal Interview

PSTET Exam Pattern
- 150 questions will be asked in each paper.
- Both papers will be of 150 marks.
- For each correct answer, +1 mark will be awarded.
- No provision of negative marking for any incorrect answer.

Paper I (For Class I to V)
- Child Development and Pedagogy : 30 Marks
- Language I : 30 Marks
- Language II : 30 Marks
- Mathematics : 30 Marks
- Environmental Studies : 30 Marks

Paper II (For Class VI to VIII)
- Child Development and Pedagogy : 30 Marks
- Language I : 30 Marks
- Language II : 30 Marks
- Mathematics and Science : 60 Marks
OR
- Social Science or Social Studies : 60 Marks

PSTET Application Process
- Visit the official website : www.pstet.net
- Click on tab "New User".
- Check the box "Agree" and click on "Proceed" button.
- Register yourself by entering valid details such as Name, Email ID, Mobile Number and Security Code etc.
- Login and fill the details in application form carefully and correctly.
- Upload scanned images of photograph and signature in specified format and size.
- Make a payment of application fee online.
- Save and Print the confirmation page of application for your reference.

PSTET Application Fee

For Paper I or Paper II
- General/OBC : Rs.600/-
- SC/ST/PH : Rs.300/-

For Paper I and Paper II
- General/OBC : Rs. 1200/-
- SC/ST/PH : Rs. 600/-
