What is the minimum qualification to join Army or Navy at Officer post?

I have passed out 12th at the age of 18 years. Am I eligible for either Air Force, Navy or Army at Officer post? If not, then what should be the minimum qualification to get into Officer post in any of these Defence Wings of India?

Being a Class 12th passed and 18 years old, you can join Indian Air force or Indian Army or Indian Navy as a commissioned officer through NDA.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and to join the same, you are required to qualify NDA entrance examination held by UPSC twice every year.

--> Also, the basic qualifications required to apply for NDA examination are as below :-

* You must be an unmarried Indian male citizen.

* Your age must lie within 16.5 years to 19.5 years.

* You must have completed your Class 12th in any discipline from a recognized board of education. But, in order to join Indian Navy or Indian Air force wings of NDA, you must have studied Mathematics and Physics at your Class 12th level.

* You must hold the physical fitness as per the service requirement norms.

You can appear in NDA examination and qualify in it for selection as an Officer in Defence services.

The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed or pursuing in std 12th from a recognised board.

For recruitment in Indian Navy and Air Force - 12th in PCM is mandatory.

The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years. Only male candidates are eligible to appear in the examination.

Examination is conducted in two stages and candidates have to qualify in both stages for final selection. For more information visit at www.upsc.gov.in.
