Dear friend,
PO stands for Probationary Officer. To become PO you are required to clear bank PO exams conducted by various banks. The exam is held every year. The common exams held are of IBPS which accounts 19 banks under it. State Bank of India conducts its own examination. Some private banks lke ICICI, Axis bank etc. also conducts their own examination. You can give these exams only if you follow some eligibility norms: You should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. You should have Minimum 60% marks in your graduation. (For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PC category minimum 55% marks are required). Computer literacy is also an essential qualification. Your age should be between 21 to 30 years. there is age relaxation given in case of reserved categories: SC/ST- 5YRS OBC- 3YRS PC- 10 YRS. To apply for Bank PO, firstly you will have to appear for entrance exam called IBPS Bank PO. Only candidates who manages to pass the Bank PO exam would be called up for interview and if selected they will get the job in one of the 19 PSU banks who accept the IBPS Bank PO Exam.
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is more than 40 years old. It has been conducting exams like IBPS Clerical and Bank PO to select candidates for various posts in the Public Sector banks in India. As mentioned earlier total of 19 Public Sector Banks accept the Bank PO Exam. These banks are: Allahabad Bank Andhra Bank Bank of Baroda Bank of Maharashtra Bank of India Central Bank of India Canara Bank Dena Bank Corporation Bank Indian Overseas Bank Indian Bank Punjab National Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce Syndicate Bank Punjab & Sind Bank United Bank of India Union Bank of India Vijaya Bank UCO Bank The IBPS Bank PO exam has been concluded for the year. Now it would take place next year. IBPS will issue notification online and on various employment dailies ahead of the exam. Eligibility 1. PO-Probationary Officer, to get a job as PO you need to write IBPS exam. IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personal Selection. There are 19banks are participating in this exam. List of total 19 banking sectors:- Eligibility criteria for PO exam:- The candidate should be complete 12th standard with atleast 60% of marks from a recognised board. Qualification required for PO in bank:
1. Bachelor's Degree of a recognized University in any discipline recognized by the central govt.with certain minimum percentage of marks as prescribed by different banks. Generally it varies from 60% to 70%. 2. Working knowledge of Computer is also necessary to take up bank PO exam. 3. Age should not be less than 21 and should not be more than 30. However age relaxation is considered as per the rules for ST/SC/OBC etc. 4. Candidate must be Indian citizen or he should have at least one holding eligibility certificate issued by the govt. of India. |

Dear aspirant,
-For bank PO you should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university. -You age should be 18 to 30 years for Bank PO exam if you are general category candidate. -There is age relaxation for SC/ST for 5 years , OBC for 3 years and physically handicapped for 10 years. -There will be a objective type paper that you have to pass with section wise cutoff marks to be eligible for personal interview and group discussion. -Total marks obtained by you in paper and interview will decide whether you will get the job or not. -So prepare for bank PO as competition is very tough in bank exams.
