What is the standard eye sight vision required to be eligible for IAS examination?

I am having low vision disability. But, I can walk alone and read, wright but my one eye is completely almost 90% blind but another eye is working perfectly. So, will I be eligible to apply for IAS examination?

Since your one eye is completely perfect, so Medical Board will recommend you fit. In general, normal eye persons have
  • 6/6 Distant vision with or without glasses
  • Full field of vision
  • Normal color vision

Since, your one eye is perfect so your visual impairment is 30% (i.e. below 40% = you are not blind/physically handicapped as per UPSC rules)

Yes, you can apply for IAS exam.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
