Being a mech engineer i want to know for which post there will b a maximum pay scale....like wise for a design engg or maintenance engg are any other ???
also plz tell me to gain max. pay scale which path can we choose having an aggregate of above 70% in b.tech-ME

The average salary for Mechanical Engineer is Rs.387000 per year and the highest salaries can exceed Rs.1000000. The government jobs for Mechanical Engineer are given below.

Depending upon the circumstances and demands of mechanical engineer in your country, it varies a lot. If you want a higher pay in foreign countries you can opt for Germany where there is great demand of mechanical engineer in fields of automation and designing depending upon your skills and experience.

Whereas in India,you can opt for government PSUs for serving mechanical engineering through GATE and even can be opt for IES(Indian engineering services) from which you can earn upto Rs. 2 lacs per month,but the competition is way higher for clearing such exams in India.

As far as PSU recruitment through GATE, ONGC pays maximum salary. Other maharatna companies like GAIL, IOCL, BPCL, etc. pay less and are equal to each other.

Project consultancy and management would be one of the highest paying areas in mechanical engineering in India.
