Re: To which group IAS belongs to?
IAS belong to group A (you can call it class 1) category officer and they also come under gazetted officers category. These are highest designated posts in government sector and they are mostly related to administrative work.
The grade pay is above Rs. 5400 for highest level officers, who are also known as gazetted officers. |

Re: To which group IAS belongs to?
1. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. It comes under Civil Services of Indian government. It comes under Group I or you can say "Group A" services.
2. To become IAS officer, a candidate has to qualify in all stages of Civil Services examination. UPSC conducts this exam. 3. Any graduate from a recognized university can apply for this exam. Age limit is 21-32 years. Three years and five years upper age relaxation to OBC and SC/ST candidates. |
