How many GATE score a
student must have to score for applying
directly for job in PSU?

Minimum marks required in GATE for job in PSUs varies every year.
It depends on the branch and number of vacancies in the PSUs.

HPCL Approximate Gate Cut Off Marks :

Mechanical : 61.33
OT-Civil : 61.67
Electrical : 74.33
Electronics & Telecom : 71.67
Instrumentation : 50.33

NTPC Approximate Gate Cut Off Marks :

Electrical : 61
Mechanical : 76
Civil : 78
Instrumentation : 50
Electronics : 78

GAIL Approximate Gate Cut Off Rank :

Mechanical : 325 ( Rank )
Electrical : 135 ( Rank )
Instrumentation : 162 ( Rank )
Chemical : 132 ( Rank )

You should score rank below 500 to get interview call from PSUs.

GATE refers to Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it is a High level examination in the entire Competitive Examinations in the Technical field and if you want to get a good score then try to concentrate more on the application oriented problems.

Here we are providing you the minimum score required to get a job in PSU's and this score varies from the branch to branch.

As per 2013 GATE score here is the cut off

For General Candidates :

--> Mechanical : 61.33

--> ECE : 71.67

--> EEE : 74.33

--> Civil : 61.67

There is a Less percentage required in GATE Score for the reserved candidates.

Each year the cut-off marks vary from year to year. so cut-off marks changes.
last year the Marks for General candidates are :
Civil - 165 / 600 (Gen) 153 / 600 (OBC) 110/600 (SC)
Mechanical - 222/600 (Gen) 215 (OBC) 173 (SC)
