Re: Age limit to appear for IAS exam and other Civil Services? Hi dear, This is the most basic question and doubt which comes in to all our minds don't worry I will help you out regarding this. Age limit Criteria of Civil Service Examination The minimum age required to appear in this examination is 21 years and the maximum age is depending upon their category if their category is general then the maximum age limit is 30 years of age ,If the category is of OBC they will get 3 years relaxation and their max age limit is 33 years of age. if they belong to sc/st category then their age limit is relaxed upto 5 years i.e., the maximum age limit is 35 years of age. This is all about the age limit criteria for most of the government exams Thanks |

Number of Attempts for the Candidates : General candidates are eligible of the exam for 4 times and obc candidates having eligible to write for 7 times and there is no limit ofr the sc/st candidates , there can write any number of time till the age of 35 years . |

Age limit to appear for IAS exam and other Civil Services * For OBC candidates the age limit must be within 21 to 33 years. * General candidates the age limit must be within 21 to 30 years. * SC/ST candidates the age limit must be within 21 to 35 years. The eligibility criteria for appearing in IAS exam conducted by UPSC is that a person should hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The age limit is as follows- * For General category- 21 to 30 years * For SC/ST category- 21 to 35 years * For OBC category- 21 to 33 years A person can appear in IAS prelims during the final year of his graduation. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice). (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification. |
