This is the most basic question and doubt which comes in to all our minds don't worry I will help you out regarding this.

Age limit Criteria of Civil Service Examination

The minimum age required to appear in this examination is 21 years

and the maximum age is depending upon their category if their category is general then the maximum age limit is 30 years of age ,If the category is of OBC they will get 3 years relaxation and their max age limit is 33 years of age.

if they belong to sc/st category then their age limit is relaxed upto 5 years i.e., the maximum age limit is 35 years of age.

This is all about the age limit criteria for most of the government exams

To be eligible for IAS exam and other civil services exam, conducted by UPSC, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination.

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:

OBC : upto a maximum of three years.

ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service as on 1st July, 2007 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three month's notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment : upto a maximum of five years.

Blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons: upto a maximum of ten years.

Age limits for Civil Service Examination :-

The applicants age should between 21 years to 30 years of age as on 1st august of the year of Examination and Relaxation is given to the various reserved categories.The categories are SC/ST/OBC/EX-serviceman.Three years upper age limit is given to the OBC category,Five years upper age limits given to the SC/ST category and Five years upper age limit given to the Ex-serviceman.

The candidate must be graduation completed from any recognized university or equivalent examination and there is no minimum percentage required for this examination.

Age limit criteria for IAS and CIVIL service examination is:

1. age limit is 21-30 years for general category.
2. For OBC it is 3 years i.e upto 33 years of age.(7 is the number of attempts permissible for OBC candidates.)

3. For SC/ST age relaxation is 5 years and number of permissible attempts are infinte.

There is 3 Indian Civil service exams conducted by UPSC and they are IAS,IPS and IFS.There is certain eligibility criteria which is same between these 3 exams.

IAS is Indian Administrative Service and this exam is conducted by UPSC and is held ever year.

Age limits:

• The candidates must have a age limit of 21-30 years.
• For SC/St it is 35 years.
• For OBC it is 33 years.
• For Ex-service men it is 5 years from the prescribed limits.

Education Qualification:

A candidiate must have attained 21yrs and not more than 30yrs on august 1 of the yr of the examination
The upper age limit is relaxed in several cases :
-Uptoa maximum of 5yrs if belongs to SC/ST

The eligibility criteria for appearing in IAS exam conducted by UPSC is that a person should hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The age limit is as follows-

* For General category- 21 to 30 years

A person can appear in IAS prelims during the final year of his graduation. He should be a citizen of India.

Well, the age limit for civil services exam(i.e. IAS) is 21 to 30 yrs, the upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 yrs for reserved categories.
For other govt. exams conducted by UPSC here is the age criteria........

1. Geologist's Exam - 21 to 32 yrs
2. Combined Medical Services Exam- 32 yrs and below
3. Combined Defence Services Exam - 19 to 24 yrs
4. Engineering Services Exam - 21 to 30 yrs
5. National Defence Academy - 16.5 to 19 yrs
6. SCRA Exam - 19 to 21 yrs
7. CISF(assistant commandent) exam - 21 to 30 yrs
