Re: Steps to become an IAS officer after 12th standard?

It is good that you have decided upon what you want to be in the future which is very important for all the candidates so that they can put their efforts in achieving so.

As you have decided upon to become IAS officer, here is the route map for you to reach your goal.

First complete your Graduation with any of the stream as per your interest. Because the minimum academic qualification with which one can become IAS officer is Graduation.

Opt for any one of the optional subject from the list of optional subjects for civil services main exam in accordance with your stream in Graduation.

Collect the syllabus and exam pattern for civil services exam.

Try to get admission for Graduation in a good college. Try to secure good percentage of marks in your Graduation.

Right from the beginning of your Graduation, carry out your preparation for Civil Services Exam also.

The reason why I am suggesting to start preparation well in advance is, the competition is too high for civil services exam.

For to get a job in civil services, the complete selection procedure would be
Civil Services Aptitude Test
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

Go by this plan. Definitely, you will get success.

Wish you all the best.

Dear friend,

Really its very good that you want to be an I.A.S officer,
but for this you should have at least graduation degree in any of the subject.
IAS comprises of three levels of exams:
1.Preliminary( Objective choice) optional papers, general studies
2.Mains(Subjective type) Optional papers, General Studies, Essay writing, English
3.Interview.
Regarding all these you must have good grip on current affairs and general issues prevailing at present.

Re: Steps to become an IAS officer after 12th standard?

If you want to become an IAS officer, you should firstly do your graduation from a recognised university. You should do B. A. preferably. Simultaneosly you should increase your general knowledge at your own level. Daily read the newspapers, listen to news daily, keep yourself updated with current affairs.

After graduation, you should join a good coaching institute. Simultaneously do self study. Look at last years papers. Prepare according to the syllabus.

Re: Steps to become an IAS officer after 12th standard?

IPS is Indian Police Service which is a Indian Civil Service exam which is conducted by UPSC every year.

There is no way you can apply for the IPS exam after 12th as the minimum education qualification needed is a degree.

List of eligibility criteria's which the candidates must possess are:

->The candidate must be a citizen of India.

->The candidate must have a age limit of 21-30 years.
For SC/ST it is 35.
For OBC it is 33.
For Ex-service men it is 5 years exception.

->The candidates must have a degree from a recognized university it may be in any discipline.

->The candidates who are writing their final degree exam or waiting for their results can apply for the
exam.

Attempts:

For SC/ST there is no limit.
For OBC it is 7.
For General it is 4.

The exam consists of 3 stages for selecting candidates:

Preliminary exam.
Main exam.
Interview.

According to my point it is better you continue your studies in the respected course in your degree and finish it and apply for the IPS exam.

Re: Steps to become an IAS officer after 12th standard?

In order to become an IAS officer, you need to be a honest as well as intelligent citizen of India. The minimum qualification to appear for IAS entrance examination or CSE(Civil Services Exam)
is to have a graduation degree from a recognised university. As you have just completed your higher secondary, i would suggest you to first select a good college for pursuing graduation.
After that you need to fully concentrate on your graduation and in the third year of graduation you need to prepare for IAS(Indian Administrative Services) entrance exam or preliminary exams.

For effectively preparing for this exam, you may require to join any coaching classes as they would guide you and would give you a direction to crack the entrance in just one attempt.
There are a number of coaching centres allover India which can help you in preparing for these exams. After completing your final year of graduation, you would be eligible to appear for
Civil services entrance exams. The exam is usually conducted in the month of June. After qualifying the entrance exam , you would be eligible to appear for the second level of examination.

The second level of exam is called Mains examination. This is a subjective test and usually the most crucial stage for most of the candidates. You are required to elect subjects according
to your preferences. Many candidates select subjects which they have already studied during graduation as they are more comfortable with these subjects. After that they are examined
about the subjects and they need to clear this exam to move to the next level.

After clearing intermediate level you would be required to pass through the final stage. The final stage in the process is personal interview. This is the stage where best candidates are
also eliminated and some of the lucky ones are left . You can also join mock interview tests for this purpose. You can easily find coaching centers that provide this facility. If you cleared
this interview you would be able to select a post according to your preference as well as marks obtained( for example you can choose- IAS. IRS, IPS, etc).
In this way you can make a successful career in this field.

Re: Steps to become an IAS officer after 12th standard?

The candidates who are applying for the exam must be a citizen of India and that the candidates must have a degree from a recognized university no matter what discipline it deals with.

It is better that you continue our studies by doing your bachelor degree with the stream which you studied in your +2 and then apply for the exam.

You can apply for the exam while you are writing your final degree exam.

IAS is Indian Administrative Service and this exam is held every year conducted by UPSC.

There is no way that you can apply for the IAS exam with a pass out from +2 as the minimum qualification is a degree.

The candidates who are applying for the exam must be a citizen of India and that the candidates must have a degree from a recognized university no matter what discipline it deals with.

dear friend,
first you will have to do graduation because for giving ias exam, the student must have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students.
if you are having these qualifications, then only you can give the exam.
there will be three rounds in the exam. firstly, you will have to give the preliminary exam. this exam will be of objective questions.
after qualifying in that exam, you will have to give the main exam, which will be in written form.
after passing both the exams, you will be called for the personal interview.
after passing that interview, you will become an ias officer.
the notification regarding the exam comes in the employment news.
for more details regarding the exam, you can visit

Re: Steps to become an IAS officer after 12th standard?

Its really appreciating that you have chose to become an IAS officer.
But there is still a long way to go.
Firstly you need to complete your graduation in any subject of your choice from a recognized university.
secondly you must fulfill the age criterion i.e. 21-30 for general,21-33 for OBC,21-35 for SC/ST.
Thirdly start reading News papers on a daily basis.Make it a duty you need to make your general awareness as strong.Read the competition based magazines you will get a lot of questions to practice.
FourthlyChoose an optional subject from the list of about 25 available subject.Start gathering knowledge of the subject without affecting your graduation studies.
Fifthly Try to participate in more number of debates, group discussions and mock interviews and develop your confidence and leadership quality.
You can appear for IAS in the final year of your graduation
