For IAS, one need to go through a civil services examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) .

The selection process will be by
-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
-Civil Services Main Examination
-Interview

In order to appear for IAs, one should have a bachelors degree from a recognized university.

So, I would suggest you to complete your graduation first and then to appear for IAS exam.

By the time you complete your graduation, make sure that you should be good enough in aptitude and General Englsih. These two will be focussed in the CSAT exam.

Wish you all the best

Your interest towards IAS is really appreciable but

the problem is you can't become IAS or at least write the CSE entrance at the age of 18 or 19

that means the eligibility criteria is the villian for you anyways

the details about IAS entrance are

IAS is an central service and also deeply regarded as d most prestigious job..

Like this service there are other 24 services for which a common entrance test is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)

The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination

->Candidate must have 21 years of age

->Candidate must complete at least degree from a recognized Indian University

this is all about the basic eligibility criteria of CSE

As per your qualification if you have completed Degree then definitely you are eligible for the exam..

You can go through the examination code for Civil Service Examination in the official website of UPSC

i.e.

www.upsc.gov.in

So you have to wait for atleast 4 to 5 years to satisfy the eligibility criterion of the exam

Regards

Default Re: Steps to become an IAS officer after 12th standard?

hi dear,
If you are interested in becoming an IAS officer, you probably know what the IAS is all about and why becoming an IAS officer is a very good career option. However, just incase you do not know, let us give you some quick information on IAS!

If you become an IAS officer, you become part of the Indian Administrative Service. You will be part of the Govt. You can work from “the inside” and change “the system”!!

If you have a dream for India, or if you, like us, believe that India will soon be a “super-power”. If you want to be part of the process of making India a great nation, IAS is for you! Being an IAS officer, there is a lot more power and control you have so that you can be part of Emerging India!

Besides that, IAS is a great career option! You get many “perks of the job” when you are an IAS officer. You will have “job security”, “discount on Govt. services”, “Govt. provided transportation” and many more things... Even though the monthly salary provided by the IAS career is not too high, the “perks” make up for the less salary!

However, getting into the IAS is not that easy! There is a very competitive “one year long” exam! To get into the IAS, you probably will have to try more than once before you succeed. And even if you clear the exam, then you have to get a very good score to qualify for the IAS! So, basically getting into the IAS is not that easy. However, here on indiahowto.com, we will try to show you “how to..” get in.

To get into the IAS, you will have to give the “UPSC held Civil Services Examination”. It is a common exam for getting into the IAS, IPS etc. To succeed in the “Civil Services Examination” you first need to understand how the examination is conducted or the “examination format”
The Civil Service Examination has a complicated format! The complete exam stretches over a period of one year! So, before you go ahead, let us first try to understand the “format” of the exam.

First of all, in the month of May or June there are the “Preliminary examinations”. Now, in this examination, there are two papers. The papers are on:

1. General Studies (150 marks)
2. Some optional subject (300 marks)

This exam is just to get you to the next round of the “main exam”. This is just to short list candidates. The score you get here is NOT added to your final score.
Thanks

Its really appreciating that you have chose to become an IAS officer.
But there is still a long way to go.
Firstly you need to complete your graduation in any subject of your choice from a recognized university.
secondly you must fulfill the age criterion i.e. 21-30 for general,21-33 for OBC,21-35 for SC/ST.
Thirdly start reading News papers on a daily basis.Make it a duty you need to make your general awareness as strong.Read the competition based magazines you will get a lot of questions to practice.
FourthlyChoose an optional subject from the list of about 25 available subject.Start gathering knowledge of the subject without affecting your graduation studies.
Fifthly Try to participate in more number of debates, group discussions and mock interviews and develop your confidence and leadership quality.
You can appear for IAS in the final year of your graduation

All the Best....

dear friend,
first you will have to do graduation because for giving ias exam, the student must have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students.
if you are having these qualifications, then only you can give the exam.
there will be three rounds in the exam. firstly, you will have to give the preliminary exam. this exam will be of objective questions.
after qualifying in that exam, you will have to give the main exam, which will be in written form.
after passing both the exams, you will be called for the personal interview.
after passing that interview, you will become an ias officer.
the notification regarding the exam comes in the employment news.
for more details regarding the exam, you can visit
www.upsc.gov.in

IAS is Indian Administrative Service and this exam is held every year conducted by UPSC.

There is no way that you can apply for the IAS exam with a pass out from +2 as the minimum qualification is a degree.

The candidates who are applying for the exam must be a citizen of India and that the candidates must have a degree from a recognized university no matter what discipline it deals with.

It is better that you continue our studies by doing your bachelor degree with the stream which you studied in your +2 and then apply for the exam.

You can apply for the exam while you are writing your final degree exam.
