Yes, computer science is eligible for IES exam but you have choose below subject for written test. Only engineering students are eligible for IES exam. ELIGIBLE DEPARTMENT OF IES EXAM:- IES is eligible for given below department of engineering. 1.Civil Engineering 2.Electrical Engineering 3.Mechanical engineering. 4.Electronics and Communication Engineering. The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs. Re: Can computer science students apply for IES exam? eligibility for Indian engineering services: **educational qualification is b.tech/be **age limit is 21 to 30years **then you apply union public service commission(upsc) **it conducts exams every year **the notifications are announced through newspapers **so you read newspapers daily and note that apply all the best |

Here is the list of course eligible for Indian Engineering Service exam: Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Electrical and Electronic Engineering Electronic and Communication Engineering are eligible for Indian Engineering service exam and the candidate age should be between 21 to 30 years to apply. Re: Can computer science students apply for IES exam? Hello friend, For Engineering Service Exam, you must hold a bachelors degree in engineering. The examination is conducted by union public service commission and apart from being a graduate in engineering, you must be within the age limit of 21-30 years. However, the maximum age limit is relaxed upto 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 3 years for OBC category. The Engineering Service Exam is conducted in the following departments of engineering: Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering For more information, refer to the official website of UPSC. |

Re: Can computer science students apply for IES exam? No candidates from computer science background cannot apply for this test. It is a must that the candidate should have studied either mechanical, electrical, electronics or civil. Also they need to have studied the same from a recognized institute. You can apply for other government jobs if the same interests you. You can apply to BSNl, army, navy, IOCL etc. |

But You are From Computer Science Background, So I think you cant choose these given Branches.
