-fighter pilots are trained in air fights to shoot down enemy aircraft and attack ground targets in enemy territory. They fly at 2 to 2.5 times the speed of sound.

-fighter bombers can match this speed today. Bombers drop bombs, missiles and other explosives on enemy targets

-transport pilots carry men, material and explosives at required places. They also carry army personnel, their weapons, guns and light vehicles from one theatre of war to another.

-helicopters are used for carrying personnel and material including hardware and ration ..

Instead of NDA you can join indian airforce through many ways that are as follows:

UES(university entry scheme) :After doing BTech you can join airforce through this scheme ,you have to face direct interview and after getting success you will be call for AFSB. you can appear for this in your 3rd
year and 4th year.

2.EKT(engineering knowledge test)::After doing BTech you can join airforce through this scheme you have to give a written test ,after completing this stage you will be call for AFSB.

you have not mentioned your educational qualification, then how can we suggest you.
see, if you have completed your 12th then you can apply for NDA, but in this case your age must be less than 21 years.. NDA exam is held twice in a year..

if you are doing graduation then after completion of your graduation you can apply for CDS,UES exam.. in this case your age must be less than 23 years..

Re: How to Apply To Indian Airforce Flying Branch

dear prasanth , you satisfies all the criteria's regarding the eligibility of IAF flying branch entrance exam but you doesn't satisfies the eligibilities regarding NDA entrance exam .
~It is clearly written in the brochure of NDA entrance test that
"Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1992 and not later than 01st January, 1995 are eligible"
which is not satisfied by you as you are older than 18yrs.

~but as the cutoff age for IAF flying branch is 23 years so you are eligible for it .

~last date for registration in NDA entrance test (I) is in the month of nov. so you can apply NEXT year and also the dates for registration in NDA entrance exam (II) has passed which was 19th of april so you have to wait for the next year's registration.

~keep reading employment news for more details and dates declared about the same .

~Last date for the registration in IAF flying branch was in the month of march which has already passed .

~Its too late to think about all these entrance test but don't worry you can definitely apply next year .

~to apply to this course , you need to complete graduation with atleast 60% and your subject in +2 has to be mathematics and science.

-for more details about the exams and their declaration , you can follow the link http://www.upsc.gov.in

best of luck !!!!

Hi
I have not given any application for NDA entrance exam or IAF till now. I would like to join IAF flying branch. My date of birth is 15-9-88. The minimum age year is 23 to join IAF. So how and where should i hurry to give an application. Which is the next date to give an application for attending NDA test. Is there any direct recrutment from IAF this year.
Thanks
