How to Apply To Indian Airforce Flying Branch

Hi
I have not given any application for NDA entrance exam or IAF till now. I would like to join IAF flying branch. My date of birth is 15-9-88. The minimum age year is 23 to join IAF. So how and where should i hurry to give an application. Which is the next date to give an application for attending NDA test. Is there any direct recrutment from IAF this year.
Thanks

Hi friend,

Your age criteria is allright for joining IAF.
You can join the flying branch of IAF directly by giving the following exams:

You can take the Combined Defence Services Examination (written test conducted by UPSC) to join the Flying branch of the Indian Air Force.

Notification is given in April and September Every Year.

National Cadet Corps Special Entry ( Through CO NCC Unit / DG NCC ),

Notification is given in April and October Every Year .

So at this time you won't find the application forms, just wait for next notification time i.e. september.

You can download the online application form from the site:
www.jobsinindiainfo.com/.../indian-air-force-iaf-flying-pilot

friend nda exams occurs twice in year but they require age limit of 16 to 19. in IAF through BA/bsc/ with bed they require 21 to 24 years u may also enter after btech. from MA/MSC they need till 27 years of age. so better if you have completed your graduate go for msc then apply to same.
Another option after completing your graduate u may give CDSE (UPSC) ENTRANCE EXAM after clearing it you have to give 'PILOT APTITUDE BATTERY TEST' , AFTER THAT YOU HAVE TO GIVE ALL SELECTION PROCEDURE COMMON FOR ALL BRANCHES after selection through merit list u are sent for training purpuses.
for more information just visit to http://careerairforce.nic.in and click to 'various entry points' option left side of the page. cdsc entrance forms will come in setember for paper in 2011

dear friend

The procedure for sending your application is fairly simple.

The first stage is to watch out for the advertisement inviting applications in the leading newspapers and the Employment News.

After you spot the relevant ad, you send us your application in the format mentioned in the advertisement, before the last date of receiving of application.

If seek entry into the Flying Branch through the NDA or CDSE, your applications need to be sent to UPSC, New Delhi.

UPSC conducts a written test twice a year in April & August (NDA) and April & September (CDSE).

Advertisements for the examinations are released about six months in advance.

If you apply for Short Service Commission Flying (Pilot) or as an NCC Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate holder, your application is processed by Air HQ and call letter issued by AFSBs.

all the best.

dear prasanth , you satisfies all the criteria's regarding the eligibility of IAF flying branch entrance exam but you doesn't satisfies the eligibilities regarding NDA entrance exam .
~It is clearly written in the brochure of NDA entrance test that
"Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1992 and not later than 01st January, 1995 are eligible"
which is not satisfied by you as you are older than 18yrs.

~but as the cutoff age for IAF flying branch is 23 years so you are eligible for it .

~last date for registration in NDA entrance test (I) is in the month of nov. so you can apply NEXT year and also the dates for registration in NDA entrance exam (II) has passed which was 19th of april so you have to wait for the next year's registration.

~keep reading employment news for more details and dates declared about the same .

~Last date for the registration in IAF flying branch was in the month of march which has already passed .

~Its too late to think about all these entrance test but don't worry you can definitely apply next year .

~to apply to this course , you need to complete graduation with atleast 60% and your subject in +2 has to be mathematics and science.

-for more details about the exams and their declaration , you can follow the link http://www.upsc.gov.in

best of luck !!!!

You are not eligible for NDA as the minimum age requirement for this is between 16 1/2- 19 years. If you are interested in joining indian air force you can join it through University entry scheme after the completion of you graduation. After that you are selected for SSB and when you cleared the SSB you selected for Indian air force as an officer.

Your data is incorrect. 23 years of age is the maximum age for applying in Indian Airforce flying branch.

The flying branch has 4 categories of aircraft flyers

1. Fighter and fighter bombers
2. Bombers
3. Transport
4. Helicopters

-fighter pilots are trained in air fights to shoot down enemy aircraft and attack ground targets in enemy territory. They fly at 2 to 2.5 times the speed of sound.

-fighter bombers can match this speed today. Bombers drop bombs, missiles and other explosives on enemy targets

-transport pilots carry men, material and explosives at required places. They also carry army personnel, their weapons, guns and light vehicles from one theatre of war to another.

-helicopters are used for carrying personnel and material including hardware and ration ..

Selection procedure:-

to become a pilot in the flying branch of iaf you have to fulfill the mentioned qualifications.

Eligibility conditions:-

• the candidate should be unmarried

• he/she should be a citizen of india
