GRE stands for Graduate Record Exam which has designed by Educational Testing Services to test or to evaluate the verbal, analytical and mathematical skills of the candidates.

GRE Exam Syllabus -

1st and 2nd section (75 minutes) - Analytical Writing Section

Objective Type Questions starts from

3rd section (30 minutes) - Verbal section
4th section (45 minutes) Quantitative section

GRE General Test is designed to provide graduate schools with common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants.

Exam Contents -

Verbal,
Quantitative, and
Analytical reasoning skills.

GRE is taken for specialised subjects also.

There are 8 specialised subjects for which GRE can be taken -

MPSC is an organization which conducts various exams for recruitment in Maharashtra government departments and agencies.[/IMG]

Eligibility criteria for applying in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission is :

You must be a Degree in Science/Engineering .
Also Transport Officer Degree. Adequate knowledge of Marathi will be preferred .
The Age limit must be in between 19-28 years & Relaxable age upto 33 years for BC candidates .

Physical Requirements are :
Height: 165 cms.
Chest: 84 cms. Unexpanded) or Supt. Prohibition & Excise or DSP/ACP

So if you satisfy this criteria , then you are eligible for MPSC Examination .

Application procedure for MPSC Examination :

You can Register to this examination either through Online or you can do from Offline .

Online application :



The application form can be downloaded from the authorized website of the MPSC. http://www.mpsc.gov.in/MPSC/indexe.jsp.
The completed application form, attached with the relevant documents should be submitted along with the fees at the designated post offices. (Open category- Rs. 400/ and for the OBC- Rs. 200/-).

Offline application :

The Price of Application Form along with Prospectus is Rs.100/- .
The Application Form and the Prospectus is obtainable from the designated Post Offices.
The details regarding the location of the Post offices where the Application Forms and prospectus can be obtained could be viewed on the MPSC website. The fee for the open category is Rs 400/- and for the OBC candidates it is Rs.200/- .
The fees amount needs to be paid at the time of submitting application form in the post office.

Passed Senior Secondary (12th Standard/Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Central Board of Secondary Education must securing atleast 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Not more than 23 years of age.
The person who will study these course they must have interest in science & biology...

3. Syllabus ::

Generally Question are based on basic mathematics and English. But the English contains basically synonyms and antonyms.Besides this some historical, biological, philosophical etc. question may come.

The minimum educational qualification is basically undergraduate degree (offered under 10+2+4 years of minimum education basis) from any of the recognized Universities.

* The prospective graduate applicants take the GRE General Test and GRE subject test. GRE scores are used by the admissions authorities or fellowship panels to supplement undergraduate academic, extracurricular records and other qualifications for graduate study.

* Some GRE Subject Tests yield sub scores that can indicate the strengths and weaknesses of an individual student and may be useful for guidance and placement purposes.

* The GRE test scores are valid for five years and most universities accept scores up to five years old but candidates are strongly recommended to keep latest scores not more than two years old.

GRE exam is conducted for admission into the graduate courses in the universities of USA and other countries.
The minimum eligibility is graduation from any stream from a recognised university
The GRE score is valid for a period of five years but few university accept it only for two years.
The applicant need to take
General test and
subject test.

The exam examines the critical and analytical thinking ,verbal reasoning etc.The syllabus for the exam is
analytical issue task
analytical argument task
Verbal thinking
quantitative thinking

The time limit for the different session are

I am a student of UoP [University of Pune]
I ve completed my 12th standard with less than 50 marks and
My diploma in entc in msbte with 74% i was fail in it for one year
During my grad I was fail for three years and will take whole 6 year span to complete my grad which will be by 2013 when i will be 27 years of age
I am worried wether i will fit in the criteria or not ?

i was failed three times during my graduation so i think i will complete my grad after 2 more years and will have a degree from UoP [university of pune]
i was failed once in my diploma and completed it in 2007 ... i ve also completed my 12 HSSC
do you think if i will pass this exam i will be accepted for any university in america as well as do i fit in the criteria for GRE?
