Graduate Record Examination is for entrence in reknowned universities in USA, Canada and ther countries.
Any individual who has an educational background of 10+2+4 years of study in recognised institution.
The test has rigorous procedure. It comprises of three sections-
-the verbal reasoning (30 minutes, 30 questions)
-quantitative reasoning (45 minutes, 28 questions)
-analytical writing (2 essay writing)

The GRE scorecard is valid for 5 years, so you can apply to any foreign university in that duration.
Moreover, the GRE is conducted ONLY ONLINE. Students are expected to prepare themselves accordingly.
There are many institutions/ coachings which prepare students with the GRE pattern like IMS, TIME, etc.
Also, BARRONS is a very helpful book for preperation for GRE.

Everyone is eligible for taking the GRE Test - there are no
restrictions on age or qualifications.
The test scores are valid for
five years, i.e., most universities accept scores up to five years old.
But it is always better if your scores are recent (not older than 2years).
