GATE ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.It is conducted by IIT'S for admission into MTech.Any student who hold a bachelor degree can write the exam.The students in the final year of the BTech are also eligible to write the GATE.There is no condition for number of attempts and age.The gate score is valid for 2 years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ALL THE BEST |

Re: Validity of gate score and how many times one can attempt gate exam? now from 2011 the gate score is valid for only 1 year..jst bcz only B.TECH or BE final year OR passed students are allowed in gate exam..before 2011 3rd year students are also allowed...so..for that gate score has 2 year validity..but now scorecard is valid 4 only 1 year .and there is no any restrictions in attempt.. |

Hi, Candidates with following qualifications areeligible for GATE: Bachelor’s degree in engineering/architecture/technology/pharmacy orMaster’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent or Qualifications equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE byIE(I), AME by ICE(I)). You can repeat this exam though GATE scorecard is valid for one year only. |

If you are a general candidates then you can apply two times and if you are belong SC/ST, then you can attempt manny number of times you want. There is no limit for SC/ST candidates. And its score are valid for only one year only........... |

Gate exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology. * Gate exam score is valid for two years. * There is no restriction for attempts in Gate exam. So you can attend as many you can. * There is no restriction for age limit in Gate exam. So you can attend at any age. * Candidates should be a graduate in Architecture or in engineering. * Final year candidates can also apply for Gate exam. * There is no minimum percentage criteria for gate exam. Re: Validity of gate score and how many times one can attempt gate exam? hi tips: *Follow standard books, stress on understanding things than memorizing them. *Solve objective type (especially numericals) questions as much as possible. *No need to cover the entire syllabus. *Keep preparing your personal notes as you cover topics. *Do not practice questions in rough. You may need to see the solutions at the time of revision. *Go through previous year papers (say last 10 years) to check your knowledge and note the distribution of different topics. *Revision is one of the most important step of the preparation process (around 20 days before examination). *Follow your notes during this time and solve time-bound question papers (preferrably last year papers). *Take a chill-pill on the day before exam. Relax!!!!!!!!!! *Do not make any guesses in the paper. If possible, try to eliminate the choices by minimum calculation/analysis. *Even you find the paper tough, DO NOT panic. It'll be hard for all Junta... |

It is not a entrance exam but with this one can get into masters in Engineering in various universities where GATE score is recognised and for getting jobs in public sector units for which GATE is an essential qualification. academic eligibility is required for appearing in the exam. They are 1. Bachelor degree in any engineering discipline 2. Masters degree holder in the field of science , mathematics, etc 3. There is no age restriction for appearing in the exam. 4. There is also no restriction in the number of attempts by the aspirant the aspiring graduates can apply only in online . For this year the last date for applying is 24th of october. The exam is to be conducted on 29th of january. |

Well The GATE score card is usually valid for 2 years but its not guaranteed always since it completely depends on organizing institution. For instance, the gate score card for the candidates who attempted GATE-2009 was valid only for 1 year and the exam was organized by IIT Roorkee. With regards to the number of attempts, there is no restriction on number of attempts till now. Gate score card is valid for two year but your ranking may vary in two year as it is according to the score and they watch overall ranking in the current year if paper is easy the ranking may get down otherwise may lift up. You can attempt gate any number of time under age limit. |

This validity period is liable to change , so keep checking it every year. There is no fixed number of attempts in GATE exam. You may take this exam as many times but it is better to take the exam preparation because last year performances are also have some small weightage. So keep this thing in mind while doing this. |
