Re: Qualification required to appear for IES exam? I.E.S exam stands for Indian Engineering service examination which is conducted by U.P.S.C. ELIGIBILITY:- Educational qualification:- --You must be a graduate holder in Engineering to apply for this exam. --Or, you must be a degree holder in engineering with following streams. 1)Civil Engineering 2)Electrical Engineering 3)Mechanical engineering 4)Electronics and Communication Engineering --Final year candidates are also eligible for the exam. --Candidate must not have any pending backlogs. --Only passing mark is required to apply in the examination. AGE LIMIT:- --Age criteria should be 21-30 years. --Upper age relaxation is available to SC,ST & OBC candidates. --For SC,ST candidates 5 years of age relaxation,i.e age limit is 21-35 years --For OBC candidates 3 years of age relaxation,i.e. age limit is 21-33 years. Citizenship:- -- You must be Indian citizen. NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:- --For open category-4 attempts --For O.B.C.-7 attempts --For SC/ST-unlimited attempts |

In order to appear for the Indian Engineering Service..you need to fulfill the following minimum criterion :- 1) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST 2) You should be a B.Tech degree holder or a final year B.Tech degree student in any of the following streams :- Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Electrical Engineering The maximum number of attempts permitted for the general category is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST there is no limit.. Re: Qualification required to appear for IES exam? Dear pal, Indian engineering service exam is conducted by the union public service commission. The basic essential requirement for the job includes 1. The aspirant should have completed bachelor degree in engineering from a recognised university under any discipline 2. Final year aspirants are also eligible to appear 3. The minimum are for appearing in the exam is 21. There is no relaxation as per the category. 4. The maximum age for appearing in the exam is 30 for general category aspirant. The age is relaxed to 33 for bc and mbc category. Sc and st category aspirant can appear upto a age of 35. 4. Except st and sc other category aspirant are restricted in the number of attempts. The general category aspirant can make maximum of 4 years while obc, mbc aspirant can make 7 attempts. There is no restriction for the st and sc aspirants the vacancy available is under the four major discipline civil engineering, mechanical engineering , electrical engineering and electronics and instrumentation engineering. The syllabus for the exam will be as per the basic discipline. |

Re: Qualification required to appear for IES exam? dear friend, IES entrance test or Indian Engineering Services entrance exam is designed for recruitment of engineers in government services. IES Exam Eligibility Criteria:- 1) Age Limit:- 21-30 years on the first day of august of the year of examination. 2) Educational Qualifications:- Applicable for the engineering graduates who have already completed or who are in last year. but last year students are required to produce the proof of passing engineering degree. IES Exam Selection Procedure:- 1) Written Exam:- Consist of 5 papers of 200 marks each. 2) Personality Interview: who have qualified in written test will be called for personal interview where their personality will be judged, the personality interview will be of 200 marks. NOTE-1—A candidate who has appeared at an examination the passing of which would render him educationally qualified for this examination, but has not been informed of the result, may apply for admission to the examination. A candidate who intends to appear at such a qualifying examination may also apply. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination, if otherwise eligible, but their admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation, if they do not produce proof of having passed the requisite qualifying examination alongwith the detailed applications which will be required to be submitted by the candidates who qualify on the result of written part of the examination. NOTE-2—In exceptional cases, the Commission may treat a candidate, who has not any of the qualifications prescribed in this rule, as educationally qualified provided that he has passed examinations conducted by other institutions the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission justifies his admission to the examination. NOTE-3—A candidate who is otherwise qualified but who has taken a degree from a foreign University which is not recognised by Government, may also apply to the Commission and may be admitted to the examination at the discretion of the Commission. Re: Qualification required to appear for IES exam? hello, union public service commission conducts the exam for IES for which the eligibility criteria is; qualification required - you should be engineering graduate from any recognized university in the following stream -Electrical Engineering -Electronics & Communications Engineering -Civil Engineering -Mechanical Engineering -or equivalent degree from recognized universities. -M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts -as an appearing you can also apply for the exam age limit -your age should be between 21-30 for general -for OBC upper age limit is 33 years -for SC/ST candidate upper age limit is 35 years for further details you can visit the link www.upsc.gov.in for more details you can see the attachment..... |

M.Sc students of Electronics, Radio physics, Wireless communication etc. can also apply. The candidates should have minimum age as 21. The applicant with 30 years is also eligible.
