for IAS IPS you'll have to appear for civil services examination conducted by upsc. eligibility criteria for both are same and is as below-

educational- graduate degree in any stream.

IPS stands for Indian Police Services.

Age limit for IAS and IPS:- 21-30 yrs for General, 21-33 yrs for OBC, and 21-35 yrs for SC/ST contendors.

The CIVIL SERVICES EXAM is conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC). In order to become a IAS (INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES) & IPS (INDIAN POLICE SERVICES) , you must have to clear this civil service examination.
The selection procedure for this IAS/IPS are - 1. CSAT (CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST)
2. MAINS
3. INTERVIEW

IAS\IPS EXAM SCHEME -



The educational qualification needed for this examination is a graduation degree in any stream but from the recognized college. Diploma holders are not eligible for this examination, . There is not any kind of minimum percentage requirement criteria is applicable, you just have to qualify the minimum qualification needed.

The age limit for his examination is 21-30 years for the GENERAL CANDIDATES,
21-33 years for the OBC candidates,
21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates.



Physical requirements for the IPS officer-




No. of attempts-

four for a general candidate,
seven for a OBC candidate,
no such restriction for a SC\ST candidate.

IAS, IPS exam is also known as CSAT exam which is conducted by UPSC once in a year.

Eligibility Criteria For CSAT exam

Age Limit
Age should be 21 to 30 years for general candidate
for SC/ST 5 year that means range of age is 21 to 35
For OBC 3 year that means range of age is 21 to 33
For PH 10 year that means range is 21 to 40

number of attempts-

general candidate- 4
OBC- 7
SC/ST- no limit

both exams are conducted by UPSC one time in every year. both have same eligibility criteria, the age limit exist for this exam in 21-30 for general candidates, there is 5 & 3 years relaxation for SC\ST and OBC candidates.

no.of attempt- 4 times for general and seven times for OBC candidates.

SC\ST candidates face no such kind of restriction about no. of attempt.

Age limit for civil service exam is:

General category:
candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

SC/ST:
up to a maximum of 5 years.

OBC:
up to a maximum of 3 years.

A general candidate can attempt Four times only.Where as Seven attempts of OBCs. And no limit for SCs/STs.


Minimum education criteria = Graduate
also Candidates appearing for Degree qualification are also eligible for appearing in the examination, however, they are supposed to submit proof of passing the requisite qualification along with with Detailed Application Form for Civil Services (Main) Examination.

Both the exams are consucted by UPSC and they are held every year.

More likely the eligibility criteria for both the exams are same:

Eligibility for IAS & IPS:

Candidates must be a citizen of India and they must have a age limit of 21-30years and for SC/ST candidates it is 35 years,for OBC it is 33 years.

The candidates must have a degree from a recognized university to apply for both the exams.

The candidates who satisfy all the above criteria's are eligible for the exam.

To become an IAS,

Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years.
For OBC candidates, the upper age limit is maximum 33 years, and for SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is maximum 35 years.

the age is calculated on the basis of 1st of August of the year applying for it.

To become an IPS,

The age criteria is same as that of IAS.

But friend, IPS has more criteria requirements than IAS, specially regarding your health and fitness.

for giving ias exam, the student must have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students.
if you are having these qualifications, then only you can give the exam.
there will be three rounds in the exam. firstly, you will have to give the preliminary exam. this exam will be of objective questions.
after qualifying in that exam, you will have to give the main exam, which will be in written form.
after passing both the exams, you will be called for the personal interview.
after passing that interview, you will become an ias officer.

IAS is Indian Administrative Service and the exam is conducted by UPSC and it is held every year.

For writing this exam the candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria's

Eligibility:
  • The candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidates must have a age limit for 21-30 years.
  • For SC/ST - 335
  • For OBC - 33
  • For Ex-service men it is 5 years exception.
  • The candidates must have a degree from a recognized university.

IPS is Indian Police Service and the exam is conducted by UPSC and it is held every year.

The eligibility needed for the candidates to write the exam are:
  • The candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidates must have a age limit for 21-30 years.
  • For SC/ST - 335
  • For OBC - 33
  • For Ex-service men it is 5 years exception.
  • The candidates must have a degree from a recognized university.
  • The candidates who have been selected in for IAS or IFS are not eligible to apply for the exam.

he Qualification what you required are as follows:-

->you need to complete your minimum age of 21 years to appear for this examination.

->You need to have a degree in your hand to enroll for this examination.

The maximum age limit for this examination is 30 years for general 33 for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST

Coming to graduation degree you need to have any degree there is no compulsion that you must have only a particular degree

The candidates from all the streams like Arts,Commerce,Science everyone are eligible the only criteria required is a degree that's all.

This is the most basic eligibility criteria for attempting Civil Services Examination which is a common examination for IAS,IPS,IFS IRS etc., like these we have another 20 services.
