Yeah you are eligible for IAS and IPS examinations. You are under OBC category so you are eligible for IAS and IPS exams. These exams are conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) once in a year. Eligibility criteria:- The candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university. The candidate should be a citizen of india. There is no percentage restrictions to apply this exam. Age criteria:- The age limits for GENERAL candidates is 21 to 30 years, The age limits for OBC candidates is 21 to 33years, The age limits for SC/ST candidates is 21 to 35years. Selection process:- Civil Services Preliminary examination, Civil Services Mains examination, Personal interview. The upper age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candiadtes. For obc, it is 21-33 years of age and for sc,st it is 21-35 years. And the number of attempts for the general category are 4, for obc, its 7 and there is no limit for the sc st students. Now, as your age is 31, and you belong to the obc category, then you're eligible for giving the IAS exam, but only on this condition that your total number of attempts so far is less than 7. The OBC candidate should be less than 33 years old to apply for Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Police Service. So please go ahead and apply for the Civil Service Examination for IAS or IPS, whichever you prefer. To apply either one of them you should have graduation degree. If you have completed graduation then there will be no issue. Eligibility 1. Only candidates of Indian origin are eligible for the Civil Service Examination. 2. Respected sir, IAS entrance examination is one of the toughest examination which is conducted to recruit the top brains of India. For the reason to administer the system. IAS entrance exam has no bar of branch stream and field it only requires Mental maturity of the applicants. The Age criteria that need to be fulfilled by the aspirants of IAS/IPS all are as follows. One more thing before that as I didn't said IAS/IPS all are the services to get recruited in these services all the aspirants of IAS and also IPS aspirants. and many more aspirants have to apply for a common entrance exam. that common entrance exam is nothing but Civil service entrance exam. This Civil services examination is conducted by UPSC once in a year. Now about age criteria are as follows. you should minimum have 21 years of age and there is certain relaxation for reserved categories. i.e., for OBC Category the maximum age being 30 years are relaxed upto 33 years for Sc/ST candidates the maximum age is relaxed upto 35 years. So you will get relaxation upto 33 years the age limit criteria is different for the different categories . 1) for the general category candidate having age between 21 to 30 years can appear in the ias or ips exam. 2) while there is relaxation of the 3 years than upper age limit for the obc category candidates. 3) and there relaxation of 5 years for the sc/st category candidates. Am I eligible for it at the age of 31? if you are a general candidates then you can not apply for this exam. because the age limit for a general candidate 21-30. but there are 5 & 3 years of relaxations are given to the SC\ST & OBC candidates. the age limit for OBC category is 21-33 years and you have a maximum of 7 attempts to clear the exam..so yes..you are definitely eligible for the IAS exam you should also be a graduate from a recognized college to give the exam |

Hello friend, Since you belong to OBC category, the maximum age limit to be eligible for Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service is 33 years, which for general category is 30 years and for SC/ST category is 35 years. Therefore, you are eligible to write the civil service examination, which is conducted by union public service commission for recruitment of IAS and IPS officers. The application form for the civil service exam 2012 will be available at designated post offices and head post offices from 04-02-2012. You may also apply online through www.upsconline.nic.in. The candidates appearing for the IAS exam must be of age group 21-30 years and a maximum of 4 attempts is provided to a general category candidate. OBC candidates have 3 years of age relaxation and a maximum of 7 attempts are provided. So, even if you are 31 years and you are an OBC candidate, you are eligible for the exam provided you still have your attempts remaining. |

The minimum age for general candidate is 21 years and the maximum age is 30 years. The age relaxation for SC/ST candidate have 5 years , and OBC candidate have age relaxation of 3 years. Your age now in 31 years and you are belongs from OBC category. So you are applicable for IAS and IPS axam. |

Eligibility criteria for IAS are as follows:- 1.A candidate should have graduation in any discipline . 2.A candidate should have atleast 50% in graduation. 3.Age limit- 21-30 years for open cateogory. 4.Age limit -21-33 years for OBC. 5.Age limit-21-35 years for SC/ST. IAS entrance exam has no bar of branch stream and field it only requires Mental maturity of the applicants. The Age criteria that need to be fulfilled by the aspirants of IAS/IPS all are as follows. One more thing before that as I didn't said IAS/IPS all are the services to get recruited in these services all the aspirants of IAS and also IPS aspirants. and many more aspirants have to apply for a common entrance exam. that common entrance exam is nothing but Civil service entrance exam. This Civil services examination is conducted by UPSC once in a year. Now about age criteria are as follows. you should minimum have 21 years of age and there is certain relaxation for reserved categories. i.e., for OBC Category the maximum age being 30 years are relaxed upto 33 years for Sc/ST candidates the maximum age is relaxed upto 35 years.
