ips stands for indian police service and to become ips officer, you have to apply for the upsc civil services examination, and you have to cracked the upsc civil services examination to become ips officer, and to apply for this examination, you have to complete your graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised university. Final year graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination.

This examination is also called csat examination. Csat stands for civil services aptitude test and there are 2 papers in this examination and both are of same marks and both are objective, if you have cracked the preliminary examination, only then you are eligible main examination.

Main examination was descriptive and you have to choose the subjects for main examination on the basis of graduation.

eligiblity criteria :

to apply for this examination, you have to complete your graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised university, final year graduate candidates are also eligible for this examination.

Your age should between 21 to 30 years, upper age relaxation is applicable for sc/st/obc candidates. 5 year relaxation is applicable for sc/st candidates and 3 year relaxation is applicable for obc candidates.

There is no minimum percentage is required to apply for csat examination.
