Hello friend,
The upcoming civil service exam is going to be conducted on 20-05-2012.
The application form will be available from 04-02-2012 and the last date of submission of the application form will be 05-03-2012.

The application forms can be obtained from designated post office and head post offices or you may apply online through www.upsconline.nic.in.

The examination comprise of three stages which includes two written exams and an interview.
The first stage is known as preliminary exam which is basically a civil service aptitude test and it comprise of two compulsory papers based on general studies and aptitude test.
The second stage is known as main exam and it comprise of both compulsory as well as optional papers.

IPS Stands for Indian Police Service and To Become IPS Officer, You have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination, And You have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination to become IPS Officer, And To apply for this examination, You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised University. Final Year Graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination.

This examination is also called CSAT Examination. CSAT Stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test and There are 2 Papers in this examination and Both are of same marks and Both are Objective, If you have cracked the Preliminary examination, Only then you are eligible Main examination.

Main examination was Descriptive and You have to choose the Subjects for Main examination on the Basis of Graduation.

Eligiblity Criteria :

To apply for this examination, You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised University, Final year graduate candidates are also eligible for this examination.

Indian Police Service exam is held once in year, this exam is part of Civil service exam and exam is conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility criteria for PAS exam:
Candidate should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
Age should be between 21 to 30 years for General category candidates,21to 33 year for OBC category candidates,21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates

Number of attempts:
4 attempts for General category candidates.
7 attempts for Obc category candidates
Unlimited attempts for SC/ST category candidates.

Important dates for IPS-2012 exam:
Indian Police Service(Preliminary exam) Notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012.
Exam will held on 20th May 2012.

Hi,

To become IPS officer, we need to write UPSC exam. UPSC exam is mandatory to become IPS officer.

The eligibility criteria for candidates is
1.Must be citizen of India
2.Must hold a degree from recognized university of India
3.Must be of minimum 21 years old.

The UPSC Civil Services notification will be released in Dec 2011. It has three phases.

1.Prelims (Scheduled to be conducted on May 20th,2012)
2.Mains (Scheduled to be conducted on Oct 5th,2012)
3.Interview (Dates will be given to those who clear mains)

Notification is not yet released.So once it releases in December, we can find the last date.

DETAILS ABOUT IPS EXAM

IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.

But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.
In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be citizen of India.


PROCESS BECOME A IPS OFFICER:-

1. Fill up the Application form.
2.Preliminary exam is consist of two papers.
a) General studies -----150 marks
b)From Optional subject -------300 marks
3.If you have qualify in Preliminary exam then you have to go for IPS mains exam
4.After completion of your main exam you have to go for Interview.

there are two types of examination in CSAT ,first is the priliminary exam and second is the main exam.

after filling online and taking print out v have to post to delhi ??? should get any authorised signature for the form??wat other documents need to submit..??
