Re: Should I do Civil Engineering? Hai friend The selection of a branch in B.Tech course totally depends upon your interest. If you are interested in the Civil Engineering, then you can join in the Civil Engineering without thinking about the opportunities becquse there will be up and don's in every branch,so,at the time of your completion of the B.Tech course there will be good job opportunities with high salary package of about 4-5 lakhs per year in international construction comapnies. So,don't think about the opportunities and try to choose the right course in which you are interested and work hard to achieve success in your career path. Thank You |

Re: Should I do Civil Engineering? Hi Civil Engineering also called CE is a branch of engineering that deals with all the construction of dams, roads, bridges, infrastructure, buildings, railway tracks, and all other related constructions. So now I must tell you a few facts about the Civil Engineering and Engineers. India being a developing country, the infrastructure is under construction, and would be for the next few decades. Now in these circumstances, India is the heaven for all the Civil Engineers. You would get so much work that you would not even get time to sleep. So in order to get these, you have to become a very efficient and well knowledgeable engineer. Infact India requires more than 4 million Civil Engineers by 2020. To read this article, Please Click Here So yeah sure you can take up CE. You wouldn't regret it. All the best Regards #RJ# |

Re: Should I do Civil Engineering? Civil engineering has an immense scope in future..The reason being nowadays even banks have started recruiting civil engineers for project lending...a lot of infrastructure activites are going on...and the wide horizon which includes roads, railways, airports, bridges all come under civil engineering..Its certainly a rewarding career but patience is required as beginners get less salaries as compared to their peers but within a year or two when you get experience..the slary band gets a jump |

Re: Should I do Civil Engineering? The present century is going to be a growth story for Asia. And there is going to be big deal of construction and civil engineering is the basic perquisite and so there are going to be limitless and great jobs for civil engineers .. companies will vie each other with fat packages and other goodies to get better engineers , for more ambitious projects. It is not only going to be in reality or shopping complexes ..newer better highways flyovers bypasses intercontinental roads and rail lines are going to be setup, There is just so much that i can't elaborate everything here.. In conclusion civil engineering is the field of coming several decades.. So if you have interest and get a good college, go for it. some companies include L&T IVRCL EMIRATES SEARS DLF GAMMON etc. Then you also have higher courses like construction management .. offered at very top colleges... what more one could ask for!!! |

Re: Should I do Civil Engineering? civil engineer is nothing but a white collared labourer who has to sustain under less educated in politics, administration, finance and the capitalists builders or owners of construction company and even under the architects. MBA along with degree or masters in civil engineering can give you a long time respectable job. Compared to many, the salaries of civil engineers is low and they aretreated amongst lowest in protocol. Recent example is completion of all construction activity for CWG(commonwelth games) on time inspite of demoralising effect of media coverage prior to inauguration when no camera covered them ever. No praise of them for completion. No one in the country knows the names of good civil engineers, structural engineers, earthquake engineers. |

Re: Should I do Civil Engineering? you can certainly apply for it. but just be clear that it requires field work, so you should be physically well, in my opinion. if you are fast forward and communicative in nature, no doubt you will be successful in this field, civil is higher than any other engineering branch. Don't worry about the job opportunities, if you are smart enough you may never go in search for a job. The job will do that ,before you complete your 6th semester. Even now if you are not satisfied just have a look at our neighboring country, |
