Re: Am I eligible for merchant navy after passing 12th? -> Yes you are eligible , follow the criteria mentioned below . 1) Appear in NDA exam which stands for National Defence in Academy . 2) It is written test , after qualifying the exam personal interview will be there . One cracks interview only can be selected in NAVY . 3) Based on the category which you wish to be in like merchant NAVY is possible based on your performance . |

Re: Am I eligible for merchant navy after passing 12th? Hi dear, Yes you are eligible for becoming a merchant navy. But not now, you need to wait at least 3years. That also you must have taken science as your stream i.e. you must have had physics, chemistry and maths as your major subjects. After passing your you must a graduation to join merchant navy. If you like to do a graduation in arts and science side you have B.sc nautical science option after which you can become a deck cadet. If you like to do a graduation in Engineering side you have an option named B.E.Marine Engineering after which you can join as a merchant navy. Thanks |

You can do graduation in nautical science if you have taken science in 12th. You can also do marine engineering after 12th. Another option for you is take up a 3 months course for Deck cadets. By joining any of these courses you can join merchant navy. You will need to appear for the entrance exam based on option selected by you. regards |

Dear friend, In the merchant Navy you can get the job marine engineering and clerk carde etc. Eligibility: You must have complete the 12th with PCM subjects. You shopuld need to complete the ship training course before the job in the merchant Navy. You should must be an Indian. Eye sight should be normal but with the 2.5 glasses eyesight also allowed. Selection process: You can be selected for the merchant navy through the written test and the interview. you should pass the medical fitness test for the sea services. Educational Qualification : The applicant must have passed the 10+2 exam or equivalent from a recognized board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) & 50% marks in English in either Xth or XIIth std. 3. Physical Standards : a. Height : The candidate must have minimum height of 157 cms. b. Eye Sight : The applicant must not be color or night blind. He can have vision of 6/12 correctable by glasses. Those fulfill the eligibility criteria can apply in the Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam govt publish the detail of the exam i n the employment paper read it regularly. |

Re: Am I eligible for merchant navy after passing 12th? dear friend, Eligibility for merchant navy:- The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness. Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field. Direct entry to Merchant Navy is also possible - students who have completed their 12th with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) are eligible to join as Deck Cadets and a student holding a bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology Engineering could also join the Merchant navy as a Engine Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer. So, go for it.. All the best. |
