Re: What is the selection criteria for PSU? What types of PSU's are the best?

Dear pal,
the various public sector units are BHEL, NTPC, ONGC, BSNL, DRDO etc. The vacancy available in the company differ and their requirement also varies.
The minimum requirement for applying for the job vacancy includes the aspirant should have appeared in the GATE exam. Only gate qualified aspirant are eligible to appear for the job.
In addition to the Gate score the aspirant should have obtained degree discipline and percentage as prescribed by the company. The aspirants will be shortlisted based on the gate score and will be called for the group discussion. Those who clear it are eligible for personnel interview.
As all the companies are public sector units you will be given handful of salary . You will be given training after which you will be posted. Posting might be in any place in India depending on the vacancy that is available. You will be promoted based on your performance and your salary will increase with promotion

Re: What is the selection criteria for PSU? What types of PSU's are the best?

There is no particular eligibility criteria for the examinations conducted by the PSU.Each Company has got it's own eligibility criteria but the common Eligibility criteria is mentioned below:-
1.The candidate must have completed his graduation from a Recognized Board with a minimum of 60-65%.
2.The candidate must be between the age group of 21-30 years for exams conducted by companies like BSNL for JTO.There are even companies like NTPC which prefer Freshers i.e students who have completed their Engineering just before 1 year.

There's even nothing as such that PSU's only select Engineering students.PSU's even select MBA ,M.tech candidates based on their need.We cannot tell which PSU is best because each company has got it's own advantages.

Selection Criteria
Each company conducts their own examination at different time but the selection pattern remains the same i.e written test in selected cities followed by interview and medical test. The difficulty of the written test varies from each PSU i.e questions asked in exams like ISRO Scientist are of higher grade when compared to questions asked by BSNL JTO.For more details about PSU's you can visit the following link-Click here
