Because generally each year TOP 10,000 candidates are selected for NIT's. Last year total 23,000 and something studets were selected for NIT', IIIT's, and other Institutes of National Importance. So, you can also understand that even after increase of 10 new NIT's it would be difficult for you. But instead of that I will suggest you to go for AIEEE. Hi 21,000 AIR is way behind in the rankings and most probably it cannot fetch you any seat in the NIT's and even if it does, it would certainly not give you the choose the course you want to study. So keeping aside this option, yeah 21,000 is not that bad a rank when you start looking at the private universities. So you may have a chance to take up JP Noida (any one of the two campuses) or some other good colleges all over India. But 8500 rank in VIT can get you a good course. You can opt from the CSE, or EEE, or ME. If you look at it from a different perspective, in any case you are going to land up in a private university, unless you take another AIEEE attempt and improve your ranking in it. So VIT if it gives you good course, and a world class environment and campus to pursue your studies, you can think of going for it. Rest its your decision. All the best Regards #RJ#

I think you get a seat in AIEEE in Trichy,Silchar and Surat.Its better that you go for AIEEE instead of VIT.Of course VIT is a good Institute but its better that you go for AIEEE since you can even try out for the other Universities other than NIT's like Bihar Engineering college Government Engineering college Tripura Engineering College Thapar University Mata Vaishno devi University So you have a chance in studying the above Universities. Just try out in AIEEE councelling and if you didn't get the college of your desire then you can go for VIT. all the best |

I suggest go for AIEEE because in this rank you will get admission in the good colleges across india. on the other hand from VITEEE rank you might not get good colleges in vellor or anywhere. However , in AIEEE 21000 rank is good , since you belong to general category therefore it is not possible to get a seat in 1st counselling in NITs but you may get a seat in 2nd or 3rd counselling , and against a vacant seat you may take admission in NITs. |

So look for some private college like Lovely Professional University and you can also join VIT as it is a reputed college. So first try for NIT otherwise go for VIT. Best of luck!!!!! |
