Re: IT & computer science engineering eligible for ies?

Many of the candidates will think that the candidates who have completed Engineering in
Computer Science Engineering or
Information Technology
are not eligible to apply for IES Exam.

But this is completely wrong.

In order to apply for IES, the minimum academic qualification that is required for the candidates is completion of Graduation in Engineering.

It is not a matter of whatever stream you have completed your Engineering. Candidates who have completed Engineering with any of the stream are eligible.

No minimum percentage of marks are required for the candidates in Engineering course to apply for this Exam.

If you have completed your Engineering in IT or CSE, then you are eligible to apply for this Exam.

But you should meet the following age criteria

21-30 years of age for the candidates of General category.
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category.

Collect the syllabus and exam pattern for this Exam and have good preparation for the same.

Wish you all the best.

Re: IT & computer science engineering eligible for ies?

Dear Friend,

The Full Form Of "IES" is Indian Engineering Services Exam. This Exam is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

The candidates who are willing to join the IES have to choose any one of the Streams of Engineering as teh questions asked in the IES Exam are set from the below mentioned streams :

* Civil Engineering

* Mechanical Engineering

* Electronics & Electrical Engineering

* Electronics & Communication Engineering

Now coming back to your query , i would like to tell you that yes candidates who have completed B.Tech in IT or Computer Science are eligible for the IES Exam if they get ready to give the exam with questions asked from any one of the above mentioned streams.

Final year candidates in B.Tech can also apply.

The Age Limit for IES Exam :

a) For General Candidates : 21-30 yrs

b) For OBC Candidates : 21-33 yrs

c) For SC/ST Candidates : 21-35 yrs

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Re: IT & computer science engineering eligible for ies?

I am answered many times in this question.

You are not eligible to apply for this examination.Because stream is not in notification list.They listed only the some branch candidates.

The branches are :-
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics and Telcommunication Engineering.
So you have no chances to appear for this examination.Because your branch is not in the above list.

But you have a various choices like Civil Service exams,C.D.S,I.F.S,Banking exams.

If you are interested apply for the Civil Service examination.Now a days many candidates prefer the Civil Service examination.The examination various jobs like railway,central,CBI,Defence,revenue.....etc.

For Civil Service examination,

You should have a graduate degree in any discipline.

Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years.

Re: IT & computer science engineering eligible for ies?

Dear friend,
I can understand your problem.I am directly saying you that yes you are eligible for this exam.But there is a problem,The syllabus for IES exam is not related to IT or Computer Science.The stream to which it is related are----
A>Mechanical Engineering
B>Electrical Engineering
C>Civil Engineering
D>Electronics and Communication Engineering
So,you will not have any subjects from IT/CSE department you have to choose from the pool of subjects from the above mentioned strems.

I hope I helped you

Re: IT & computer science engineering eligible for ies?

yes , definitely all the IT and CSE student can appear the IES exam,

Why not after all they are also graduate engineer...
Don't think that these branches have no value, ok

because , you know, in india what is the 1st export source: yes it's software. and all these are because of these graduates, ok, yes there is no relation of this with IES ,
I am trying to convince you that IT and CSE are the best ever..

yes you are elligible, so prepare for it, and just kick out all these ......that you are thinking about...ok
good luck~~~`

Hey friend,

IES exam stands for Indian Engineering Service

This exam is conducted by UPSC and is held every year.

You are not eligible for the IES exam as you have not satisfied the education qualification for the IES exam.

The candidates who have done their Engineering/Technology in

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics Engineering.

As you have done Information Technology and Computer Science Engineering,you are not eligible for the IES exam.

The candidates must also have a age limit of 21-30 years.There are certain upper age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC.

For more information regarding the IES exam you can get them at http://www.upsc.gov.in

Hi,

The first thing is that computer science or IT are not the core engineering branches like mechanical, electrical/electronics, chemical.

IES is conducted only for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering graduates.
