Re: Qualification required to apply for UPSC exam?

UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission.

Every year UPSC conducts number of examinations. So, UPSC is an organizing body.

You did not mention the specific UPSC Exam for which you want to know the required eligibility criteria or qualification.

So, I suggest you to be more clear with your query the next time so that we can better guide.

As you mentioned preliminary exam, I thought your query is with regard to civil services exam.

One should have completed Graduation to make entry into civil services.

Some of the popular civil services that you can opt for are
IAS
IPS
IFS

Try to be with an age of 21-30 years by the time you appear for civil services exam.

Then only you are eligible to take this exam.

Make a note of the selection procedure.

Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Exam
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

The competition for this exam is located all over India. Keep this in mind and have your preparation levels too high.

Then you can easily get through the exam.

All the best.

Re: Qualification required to apply for UPSC exam?

Educational Qualification required to apply for UPSC exam is a graduate in any stream under a recognized university.

But in exams like IES, only engineering graduates are applicable...

students pursuing their final year can also apply provided that they can show their proof of passing by the end of August.

The age limit is that you should have crossed 21 years of age...
again General candidates should not cross their 30 years, OBC candidate should not cross their 33 years and SC/ST/PD candidates should not crossed their 35 years of age....

These are the only requirements and qualifications needed to apply for UPSC exam.
