Re: Are girls allowed/eligible to answer NDA exam? I am sorry to say that girls are not eligible to give the NDA exam. NDA exam is only for unmarried male. Girls are eligible to give the SSC exam which gets you a post in sectors of defense which are telecommunications,assistant etc. |

Dear Friend, Girls are not allowed to appear in NDA exam because they do not fulfill the major eligibility criterai for NDA exam which is that only unmarried males are applicable for NDA exam. So , very sorry to say but you cannot give NDA exam. But , my dear friend , you need not to worry as you can give CDS exam and can join defense. If you are interested to join for defense, first you can do your graduation and then you can apply for CDS Examination. The CDS stands for combined Defense Services and this examination is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) TWICE in a year i.e CDS I and CDS II. Girls are eligible for OTA (Officer Training Academy). The Eligibility Criteria: ** The candidate must have to complete Graduation from a recognized university. **And the final year of Graduation candidates are also eligible for this exam. **There is no percentage restriction. **The candidate must be citizen of India. **The age should be in between 19 to 25 years and there is no upper age criterion. NDA-NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year. only male unmarried male within the age of 16.5 to 19 years having completed 12th from a recognised Board is eligible to apply for NDA. The girl candidate can apply for CDS. CDS-COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year. The girl candidate having Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years can apply for OTA(Officer's Training Academy) of CDS. NDA exam is an exam named as National Defense Academy exam conducted by UPSC twice in a year for choosing best persons for joining in Indian Defense Services. To be eligible to appear in NDA exam the first condition is you must be an unmarried male candidate and your age must be above 16.5years and below 19years. You must have passed your 12th std of any discipline from a recognized board. As you failed in the first condition itself you are not eligible for appearing in NDA exam. |

I would like to state that girls are not eligible for NDA examination, which is conducted by UPSC every year for two times. for appear in this exam a candidate must have 12th degree in PCM with at least 60%. the age limit for this exam is 16.5-19. but after graduation you can apply for CDSE , conducted by UPSC evrey year. for this exam girls are eligible , nd then can apply for any one of the branch of the indian army. 1.naval wing 2.air wing 3.military wing the age limit for this exam is 19-24. for appear in this exam you must have graduation degree in science stream , you must have score at least 60% in graduation. thanks! |

Since you are a female candidate, therefore you are not eligible for this test. However, to join the army, you can appear for the CDSE after your graduation to get a permanent commission in the army. Find attached a CDSE profarma. Good Luck. |

But don't be disappoint girls can also join Navy ,Airforce ,Army as officer .If girls wants to join Defense then there are various ways through which a girl candidate can join . 1]A girl candidate can apply for Short service commission for that a candidate should be graduate .For that a candidate will have to apply for CDS . 2]Girls can also join defense as a officer through medical entrance examination . In this a candidate will have to appear in AFMC entrance examination .After clearing the exam a candidate have to study in armed medical college .After completing course she will join defense as officer .
