The relevant clause of age limit for IAS actually reads as follows - The candidates must have attained 21 years of age and must not be over 30 years as on 1st August of the year of examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category get 5 years relaxation in upper limit of age OBC (Other Backward Class) candidates are eligible for 3 years of relaxation in upper limit of age. Candidates domiciled in state of J&K during 1st Jan 1980 and 31st December 1989 are eligible for 5 years of relaxation in upper limit of age. Candidate in defence services and disabled in hostilities may claim relaxation of 3 years in upper limit of age. Relaxation Upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs / SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on August 1 of the year of examination and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from August 1 of the year of examination). Relaxation up to Upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ECOs / SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment (5 years Military Service) as on August 1 of the year of examination and whose assignment has been extended beyond 5 years. Such candidates will have to provide a certificate from the Ministry of Defence stating that they can apply for civil employment and they will be released on a notice of 3 months, upon selection, from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. ELIGIBILITY: AGE LIMIT: The candidate minimum age limit is 21 years. The candidate upper age limit is 30 years. And Upper age relaxation is available for the other categories. 3 years upper age relaxation for the OBC. 5 years upper age relaxation for the sc/st. 10 years upper age relaxation for the Physical Handicapped. You should be citizen of india. You should complete the Graduation from any recognized university. No minimum percentage required for this exam. Final year appearing candidates are eligible. Re: Maximum age limit for appearing in IAS? Age limit for IAS A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below: upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST. upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during the period between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989. upto a maximum of 3 years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled during hostilities with foreign countries or in a disturbed area and consequently released. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped candidates. thanks |

Such candidates will have to provide a certificate from the Ministry of Defence stating that they can apply for civil employment and they will be released on a notice of 3 months, upon selection, from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. g. upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped candidates. INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES This civil service service examination is conducted by UPSC (UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION)years . for apply in this exam you must possess graduation degree from a recognized college, whatever may be the stream is ... the age limit for this examination is 21-30 years for the GENERAL CANDIDATES,. there are 5 & 3 years of the age relaxations are applicable for SC\ST & OBC candidates respectively. thanks! |

Re: Maximum age limit for appearing in IAS? this exam is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission) every years.for appear in this exam you must have to complete your graduation in any stream from a recognized college. the age limit for this exam is 21-30 for a general candidate.... there are 5 & 3 years of age relaxations are applicable for SC\ST & OBC(NON-CREAMY LAYER) respectively. thanks!!!!! |

Candidates have given graduation from a recognized university. Candidates for general category it is 21-30 years. Candidates for OBC candidates it is 21-33 years. Candidates for SC/ST candidates it is 21-35 years. Attempts: For General - 4 For OBC - 7 For SC/ST - No limit All the best |
