Re: Age bar for admission to 3 year LL.B. course? sir, I am sathees s and the decision taken by bci about age restriction is not the good decision, if the bci think that only age restriction will quality in legal profession is not acceptable, why such bad idea i.e to bring age restriction. more than thousands of students got admission into llb 3 year and 5 year courses. if any such idea to bring age restriction in any field , before bring this rules circular be sent to all concerned universities and state bar councils regarding restriction on admission due to age restriction, in this regard subjudice is pending with supreme court then how bar council of india how implement its rules. this age restrictions of bci challenged and opposed by several sbc and universities, so i hope on supreme court while taking decision on this issue, keep in mind of over thousand of students who have completed and pursuing and study at present. only age is reason to restrict them to allow practise is not acceptable . so dont play with life of student those seriously p\ pursuing law courses even after 40 age. thanks and regards |

Re: Age bar for admission to 3 year LL.B. course? My friend, the Bar Council of India has introduced the age limit of 30 years for the LLB course admission. It is not 40 years as you are suggesting. It has been implemented throughout the country. There was outrage over the decision and someone did went to court against the decision taken by the Bar Council of India but the petitoner lost the case. What this means is that the age restriction imposed by the Bar Council of India has been implemented. The argument of Bar Council of India is that it was important to impose restriction so that some people may not have unfair advantage. It believes that people who pursue the course after certain age never intented to choose law as their career option. They get unfair advantage over candidates who choose law as their preferred career option. This is why it was important to impose the restriction. The court has accepted the argument of BCI. Therefore a candidate has to be less than 30 years to apply for the 3 years llb course. There is some relaxation which is mentioned below with eligibility. Eligibility Criteria 1. You must have graduation degree in any discipline. 2. At least 45 percent marks in graduation. 3. Minimum of 40 percent marks for SC/ST candidates. 4. The age limit is 30 years. 5. There is five years relaxation for SC/ST. As you can see that only Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates can apply for LLB course after the age of 30 years. There are some colleges that accept candidates for correspondence course in law after the 30 years age limit. But none of the correspondence courses are accepted by Bar Council of India. Which means that candidate with such degree can not practice in court. |

I am also waiting for the hearing ,If anyone can update on that will help us a lot.Currently all colleges are opned for admission, they don't warn about certain things like if the court hearing comes positive then it is fine,if it is nor positive then we have to discontinue from the college and you will not get the fees.So enquire properly and then join the college. If i come to know i am sure i will update on that.Hope they remove age limit. |

Re: Age bar for admission to 3 year LL.B. course? Sir, i am 47 years. i am interested in LLB. My request is that, the Bar Council of India shall not restrict the age for studying. It is a birth right of any Citizen. That too, law is the only profession which make a man to understand constitutional rights of every Indian Citizen. But they can restrict his practice by implementing many strong tests/exams before he starts practicing as an advocate. And also for Senior Advocates, freshers etc., they can Implement some Dress code so that they people can understand Seniors, Juniors etc., This not only make way for good advocates but also give an opportunity to every Indian Citizen to understand the law and make the country proud. In India there are lots of colleges offering 3 year LLB program. Candidates have to appear in an entrance exam as to get admission in the program. The eligibility for admission in to 3 year LLB is to have a graduation from any field of studies. CLAT is one of the most famous entrance exams for LLB courses. There are many universities and colleges in India which take up candidates after CLAT. Some of the colleges are National Law School of India University, NALSAR, National Law Institute University, WBNUJS, NLU, HNLU, Gujarat National Law University, RMLNLU, Chanakya National Law University, Patna (CNLU) and National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi (NUALS). |

Hi dear, The Bar Council of India, which governs standards of legal education in India introduced a 20 years age limit for the five-year LLB course and a 30 years age bar for the three-year LLB course from this year. i don't have idea about this, if this age bar is given than it should not be there I think we should collectively look into the matter because education in any field is on the interest of individual. There should be no age bars.. this what the though of mine... all the best dude..!!! lets join hand together towards this.. Thanks |

sorry to say u that i am totally against with ur opinion that a 25yrs old lawyer may not competete to a 40yrs old...can i know that is any provision may change its meaning when it may read by two different people with different age??no mr but the way of interpretation of any provision may change the meaning or object of any provision...thats why we are studying one more paper in law called interpretation of statutes.....bci has limited age coz bci want that any ll.b degree holder may dedicate his time and life to this field only rather than take it as an optional career.....hope u will consider on my opinion and also agree with me.... Re: Age bar for admission to 3 year LL.B. course? it is learn t that bar council of india restricted the distance education for admission in law course then should IGNOU and NIOS and other deemed distance university should be closed to spoil the life of student, it is very unjustified for this decision on the issue it would be better for bar council of India to say to close admission for distance admission after 2015 because those taken admission in 2010 may complete within 1013-2014 and those will take admission in the session 2011-2012 should be informed to no way to admission in law course after 2014. |
