Graduate Indian National in any stream within the age of 21 to 30 years is eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. There is certain restriction to number of attempts to Civil Service Exam for various category candidate such as:- -General Category - 4 attempts -OBC - 7 attempts -SC/ST - No such restriction For mor information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |

No of Attempts: The candidate required the minimum 4 attempts to applying for this civil service examination for General Candidates. The relaxation available for other categories. 7 attempts required for the OBC Candidates. No limit of Attempts for the SC/ST candidates. All the best. |

You want to appear in WBCS exam, and you want to know the number of attempts criteria..General category students can appear in WBCS exam 4 times.. OBC category students can appear in WBCS exam maximum 7 timesSC/ST category students can appear in WBCS exam unlimited times..So, go for it, and try to crack the exam at the very first attempt.CIVIL SERVICE EXAM is conducted by UPSC in every year. Those are graduate are applicable for civil service exam. But your age should be between 21 to 30 years.Age relaxation is provide 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidate. |

West Bengal Civil Service Exam ATTEMPTS-- 4 attempts for General Candidates 7 attempts for OBC Candidates no such restiction for SC/ST/PD I think the same will be followed by BPSC as they took reference from UPSC to conduct the Civil Service exam for various posts. you must have nationality indian . your age limit must be under 21-30. there are 5 year s relaxations for SC\ST candidates. you must have graduate degree in any stream from a recognized university. |

Eligibilty for west bengal civil services is :-Age Not below 21 years but not more than 32 years on the 1st January of the year of examination for services and posts included in Group ¡®A¡¯,¡¯C¡¯ and ¡®D¡¯. For the West Bengal Police Service only (i.e. Group ¡®B¡¯ Service) age not below 20 years but not more than 32 years on the 1st January of the year of examination. Educational Qualifications: i. A degree of a recognized University. ii. Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali .the number of chances are not counted one can give the examination till his/her age expires for obc an st /sc candidate. |

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Number of attempts- 7 times, Age Limit- 30 years. SC/ST/PH: Number of attempts- unlimited, Age Limit- 34 years. regards neha |
